Hi everyone,
Some basic info:
Demographics: 23, Male, Indian
Education: Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology & Science, Pilani (BITS Pilani)
GPA: 7.55/10 (USA: 3.1/4.0)
Work Experience:
I have been working as a software developer at Amazon post graduation and on the path to SDE2.
Once an SDE2, I can shift to an SDM(software development manager) or if I push enough, I can make it to Product management.
I have been doing some stakeholder management(manager is good and giving opportunities) and have been getting great feedback.
Being at Amazon, I have a plus that I can move to US and get some international experience as well.
I plan to give GMAT as well. Extrapolating existing datapoints, I could get in 750-760
Why MBA?:
Innovate and create a better vision, influence & contribution in the company while moving fast towards C-Suite(long term).
Target Colleges: Top 10 universities. (HBS is exemplary)
Which direction could I take in order to increase my chances?

Hi SherlockSHolmes - thank you for reaching out to us. Are you asking what career path you should take *before* applying to business schools to better differentiate you? As you know, you are in a overrepresented demographic applying to these top schools. I'm not sure either of these paths will help to differentiate you - but between the two, I think produce manager may be a bit more differentiating. Getting the international experience you mention will also help.
What really matters is what you accomplish in whatever role you have -- can you demonstrate leadership and impact? Can you show that you are performing well ahead of your peers? In addition to your work experience, it will be important to also demonstrate leadership through community involvement/ extracurriculars. It will also be important to get more specific about your post-MBA plans, including your shorter term path to get to the C-Suite role you hope to have someday.
