I’ve just published an
article unpacking the realities of unstructured MBA recruiting and sharing practical ways incoming candidates can prepare for the first-year recruitment journey.
For many incoming MBA students, internship recruitment in the U.S. can feel like navigating a maze without a map. It’s a phase full of uncertainty, intense competition, and countless decisions that shape your career trajectory.
Over the past 6–8 months, I’ve connected with career groups, MBA peers across schools, and employers, both as VP of Careers for my MBA association and as a candidate myself. From these conversations, one thing became clear: that MBA recruitment is a test of resilience, strategy, and adaptability.
If you’re starting your MBA soon or supporting someone who is, I hope this helps demystify what lies ahead.
