Hi All,
I have been accepted to both Weatherhead (with scholarship) & SUNY Buffalo. But having a hard time deciding where to go.
Both are great programs, but while the average work ex of SUNY Buffalo MBA is 2.1 years
(that's quite low & can explain the low average starting salaries) it's closer to New York. Where most of the graduates actually go for jobs.
Weatherhead on the other hand is a great program but in Cleveland. (Now i am not too sure about the job market in Cleveland, but it's not steller. Anyway, Cleveland again is about 8 hours from New York, so that pretty much equals out.
My intended post graduation industry is technology and my concerns are -
1. Everyone i seem to know prefers SUNY Buffalo (maybe becasue of the strong international presence at SUNY
) over Weatherhead (Case is great University but seems to have a low repo ??? correct me if wrong)
2. Mid West versus East Coast for intended/better career prospects ???
I am inclined towards Weatherhead because of better fit but doubtful due to career prospects.

Hi, congrats on your admission offers, I hate to be blunt but these are not great programs per say, my suggestion would be that you'll have a better opportunity if you apply to a couple programs in Canada...you'll get a 3 year VISA after graduation and you'll have the opportunity to make some $$...these programs won't guarantee strong job placement....as an Indian you'll fit in well at Buffalo due to a high indian presence but please make no mistake it is nowhere close to NYC. Starting salary is low b/c of low work experience and the cost of living in buffalo is extremely lower compared to other markets.

My bother got admits from both these schools. Your insights on these will help him choose the best one from both of these. Finally, where did you join? What are the reasons? Your take on these 2 schools after 5 years would help him make an informed decision.
