I also applied to CEIBS. Do any of you how important it is to be fluent in Mandarin to get a job placement after graduating from CEIBS?

Also, was it just me that found it weird that they would ask you what websites you visit most frequently and they wanted a photocopy of your university certificate (I had to deframe mine just for CEIBS)?

I've read that it is VERY helpful, but they have started to grow their international placement services recently. I'm curious, when did all the round 2 applicants get their 'your application is complete' email? Not just for the online one, but for the document package.

Their website is many layers deep - there is tons of material to research there. There are also a number of Indian forums that have posted useful info and links. I haven't been tracking links, rather absorbing material as I go. Google search turns up massive amounts to dig through too. I'll post the next interesting bit I find.

These links are tremendously helpful -- thanks!

I consider myself a US applicant, but I do have roots in Asia and applied to CEIBS. I am of the opinion that CEIBS has room for improvement in its American marketing efforts (assuming they want to attract American applicants). Compare to INSEAD, which held info sessions in most major US cities. I have also seen IESE/HKUST/IE/LBS in most MBA fairs.

With that said, what CEIBS has managed to achieve in such a short time frame is incredible. The aforementioned schools have had the luxury of being around much longer.

Can you fellow applicants provide a timeline of when you submitted your app, when it went 'complete', and when the interview invite came? Anxiously waiting for an interview invite.

Also, what are your profiles?

I applied 1st round:
Submitted application on 10/26 (about 2 weeks prior to actual round 1 deadline of 11/15)
Interview invitation received on 11/18
Interviewed on 11/25
Received admission notice on 12/16

My process was pretty fast - I think it had to do with the timing of my application submission - pretty early in the stage. My profile is California-located, ~5years in management consulting, with good load of extra curricular activities (e.g., community service), no mandarin background. you?

Good luck!

I've provided my interview experience in a previous posting. Just scroll up to Feb 12. I am Chinese-American, but do not know mandarin, so I'm trying to learn now and later when I go to Shanghai.

Ah sorry - thought that was a different poster. The "what other schools you applied to and why"..

how did you respond to that and how did they react? I applied to 4 other schools but got dinged at 3 of them...(tbd on last one). Any suggestions if i even mention them?

In my case, i applied to only 2 other schools - both in Asia, specifically in HK. It goes back to your career path in business school - for me, it's to build my understanding of the China economy / work there eventually / lots of opportunities to learn via successfuly Chinese businesses - specifically in Shanghai. So it's up to you on how you want to socialize your decisions on the other schools you applied to. Not sure if you need to mention all other 4 and where you got dinged. You don't want to focus on that, but more focus on your goals/career path and why CEIBS is one of your choices.
