Must be true;

C: Follows the reasoning verbatim for “any” company. Note that the first statement includes a “must”.

D: Stellar could also become an Industry leader through “setting new standards.”

He says we want to be industry leaders “but by setting new standards . What if new industry standard is something that doesn’t really have to be innovation. What if its just really a “standard” about how worker safety is defined in the industry.

So I am not sure, but I think here C is a more legit answer. Given that this is a “must be” question - there is very little space for inferring his context.

A. Currently, Stellar Inc. is the industry leader.
We cannot be sure of this. May be Stellar Inc. is trying to be industry leader.
B. A company that is not an industry leader cannot foster industry innovations unless it stops following other companies.
A company that is not an industry leader can foster industry innovations and can follow the other companies.
C. If a company does not identify an industry innovation that will turn out to be the next big rage in the industry, that company cannot become the industry leader.
Argument states that next new rage but this answer choice talks about the next big rage. Thus we move from this answer choice.
D. Stellar Inc. will not achieve its goal unless it can identify an industry innovation that will turn out to be the next new rage in the industry.
This can be inferred from the argument.
E. Companies that are focused on and satisfied with existing standards and are merely following other companies will become industry leaders only if they emulate Stellar Inc.
This cannot be true as these companies will not become industrial leaders.
Choice C talks about the next big thing and Choice D talks about the next new thing. Argument talks about the next new things, thus choice D is correct answer

Hi there, probably late withthis reply but maybe it can help someone else.

The CEO begins by saying. ''Being an..'' instead of ' to become an..'. So you can eliminate all options that talk of how to to become.

Can someone please explain why is the answer D and not C?

this does not make sense, and it fits this question doesnt mean it's the correct logic. would heavily advise against it. I did mark D as answer but C is very close and i can't find a good logic to eliminate either.

Based on what you mentioned, can you please elaborate what the negation for being would be? I am thinking that if you don't become industry leader then you are "not being" an industry leader. But probably this isn't correct

Bunuel KarishmaB MartyMurray which option would be right?

CEO: Being an industry leader is exceptionally challenging because a leader must identify an industry innovation that will become the industry's next new rage. A company that is focused on and satisfied with existing standards will merely follow others rather than leave behind a blazing trail. At Stellar Inc., our goal is to be the industry leader by setting new industry standards.

Which of the following must be true based on the CEO’s statements in the paragraph above?

A. Currently, Stellar Inc. is the industry leader.

B. A company that is not an industry leader cannot foster industry innovations unless it stops following other companies.

C. If a company does not identify an industry innovation that will turn out to be the next big rage in the industry, that company cannot become the industry leader.

D. Stellar Inc. will not achieve its goal unless it can identify an industry innovation that will turn out to be the next new rage in the industry.

E. Companies that are focused on and satisfied with existing standards and are merely following other companies will become industry leaders only if they emulate Stellar Inc.

I would pick (D) thought the wording of the argument is a bit off.

Can someone please explain why is the answer D and not C?
I marked C as well brother, but unfortunately i realized after marking that C is definitely wrong - the reason is that option C is drawing a cause and effect type of relationship whereas in the argument there is no such relationship drawn, Plus this question is a must be true question, so kind of like assumption question and with every assumption question the answer that most weakens the conclusion of the argument is the correct answer which D does it perfectly.

Hence, if we try to negate option D, it will most weaken the conclusion
Negation of D :- Stellar Inc. will not achieve its goal even if it can identify an industry innovation that will turn out to be the next new rage in the industry.
