Hi everyone I’m new here so I hope this is the right forum’s section. Do u think I have any chance getting into Bocconi ( Mainly international management, but finance would be fine too) or HEC mim? My profile:
21 yrs, Italian, I’m in my final year of bachelor in business at an Italian public university
CAE 198/210 ( year 2020)
GPA 29.3/30 using Italian grading system (approx 3.9 GPA)
GMAT 690 q45 v40
The big problem is with my cv:
No exchanges ( like Erasmus program) or experiences abroad
No work experience (only 2 months internship at a local accountant).
Please tell what you think and if u have any other suggestions regarding universities where I could apply.
Thank you

Hi Chicco02

Thanks for posting. Here is our assessment:
- You should have a decent shot at Bocconi, ESADE, and ESCP with your current GMAT score and academics. Slightly lower chances at ESSEC and LBS, but with a strong application, even these are possibilities.
- Your GMAT score might fall a bit short for HEC and INSEAD. If those are musts for you, raise your score by 20-30 points to have more chances there.
- Feel free to get in touch directly for a deeper evaluation as that requires a discussion of your profile and strengths and weaknesses.

I have seen people with 670 GMAT get into HEC...

Hello Chicco02,

I hope you are doing good. Your profile is competitive in terms of academics, especially your GPA and GMAT score. However, there are certain aspects of your profile that you should address to strengthen your application for Bocconi and HEC's MIM program.

Both Bocconi and HEC MIM programs typically look for candidates with some form of international exposure or experience. While not having had the opportunity to study or work abroad can be a disadvantage, you can try to compensate for this by emphasizing other aspects of your application.

MIM programs, including those at Bocconi and HEC, often prefer candidates with some work experience. If you have time before applying, consider gaining relevant internship experience or part-time work, even if it's in your home country. This can demonstrate your practical skills and commitment to the field.

Highlight any extracurricular activities or leadership roles you've taken in your university or community. Demonstrating your ability to lead, collaborate, and make an impact can be a valuable addition to your application.

Craft compelling essays that explain your passion for international management or finance and how the program aligns with your career goals. Obtain strong letters of recommendation that speak to your potential and abilities.

While Bocconi and HEC are prestigious institutions, consider applying to a mix of programs, including some with less stringent requirements. You may find other universities that align with your goals and are more open to candidates with your profile.

Showcase Your Language Skills: Since you are Italian, make sure to highlight your language skills, especially if you are proficient in languages that are relevant to international business.

While your current profile might face some challenges, a well-rounded and persuasive application can help you stand out. If you can address the lack of international experience and bolster your application with relevant extracurriculars or work experience, you can still have a good chance at getting admitted to the MIM program at Bocconi, HEC, or other similar universities.

Feel free to schedule a free profile evaluation call with us to discuss your profile better and give a fair evaluation of your chances of admission to top Business schools.
