But in the end it is just so sad. I mean they did not accept me, but instead they accepted a total nutcase who cannot even brake into a not so well guarded facility properly... Huh?

Well, if it makes you feel better, I publicly outed the guy on the class distribution list. I hope they rescind this ****'s admission.

It does :D

Aw man - M@t1n's life must suck right now. Dinged by GSB, he has probably quit at Merrill now.

Paddle & ****.

(edit - googleproofing, as it seems sensible).

This could be interesting to follow, as it could become that GSB class 2009 enforce their ethics code before they even enter pre-term.

I would NOT want to be in a class with this guy. I mean, stealing/fudging data is not exactly Chicago GSB ethics code is it?

Whatever happened to "Thou shalt not steal"? Good job, Chicago adcom! Best of luck, waitlisters!

They did do this fast. It was posted on the adcomm's message boards this weekend and before this morning is over, they took action.

It could be a sign that they are already overbooked and just looking for reasons to cut down the class size.

But woohoo! My profile was sort of similar to his, so maybe, just maybe.

I am surprised that they commented publicly...something about privacy laws. I guess that doesn't apply in this case...

What an idiot. What exactly did he think he could do to alter his grades three years after the fact? It's not as though this is the year 1950 and his only academic records are stored on a piece of paper in a file cabinet. Was he planning on destroying the entire computer network on which grades were stored?

He broke into the AU building in April. Are we to assume that he lied about his GPA on his MBA applications and wanted to delete/alter his academic record prior to sending the required transcripts to the Chicago GSB?

I have no doubt that the person isn't the only student accepted to a top MBA program that lied his ass off on his application. The only difference is that this guy was caught doing so. I do wonder how many people fabricate employeement positions/leadership roles in their applications and in the essays, knowing full well that the chance of them being caught is very low.

May not be so surprising after all. Chicago GSB appears to be pretty serious on cheaters. They have revealed stats in the past -

https://yahoo.businessweek.com/bschools/content/jun2007/bs20070620_937949.htm

BusinessWeek Article
Out of the 25 business schools, only three—the University of Virginia, Duke, and the University of Chicago—were able to provide us with specific data about ethical violations among their B-school students.

This is, of course, a different situation - they are talking names & specifics here. But since its already in the news, they had to respond in the news. Their PR must rate college reputation above anything else.

They didn't but I guess I was surprised that they were willing to talk to rhyme about the issue.

I don't think so. He'll be hurting for a while, but he'll be able to bounce back. He'll have to find a job elsewhere. VP at ML is not bad. That is, if he really was a VP.
