So...I'm guessing he's screwed? Or is there any chance he gets to stay?

As an aside, AU isn't exactly an Ivy League school. The kid must have had pretty decent grades to get a job with ML. Besides, it sounds like this all went down after getting accepted.

I dunno, when I lived in DC I never thought of the CityPaper as The Onion type. If its a spoof then they're opening themselves up to lawsuits by using a real name. A number of somewhat serious web-sites have picked it up as a real story.

Btw, this is exactly why I don't have facebook, mySpace, etc profiles and why I'm nervous about LinkedIn and other professional networking sites. It took all of 2 minutes to verify that this kid exists, that he works at ML, and that he went to AU. You can also learn all kinds of stuff about this hobbies, interests, private life, etc. (at least as long as he had his profiles up).

All the evidence suggests it is real.

Yesterday, his myspace page was public and I browsed it just to see what he's about.

Today, it's private.

Even if the adcomm wanted to take action, I wonder if they could even do something about it. Seeing as to how he was unsuccessful.
