Can you pls explain how C is better. I marked A as answer because its (subject of 2nd clause) can unambiguously refer to China's(China's interest) as no other referent seems logical

I have 1 more doubt, what exactly is the error in D. When I read it, it didn't feel right but I couldn't figure out the exact problem

Answer is clearly A. However in such cases where there is a close shave between 2 choices and its difficult to pluck the right one....just do one thing. Go for the one wch is less obvious. I have noticed tat thing in Gmat.

This might sound weired bdw.
