Title: Need Advice: 625 GMAT, 4+ Years Healthcare Experience — Apply to Singapore/Europe MBAs.
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for an honest assessment of where my profile stands for the following full-time MBA programs (2027 intake):

I had initially assumed that my profile might be reasonably competitive for these Singapore and European programs because of my healthcare background and leadership experiences. However, after reading several discussions online, I’ve become unsure about whether applying now is the right move.

- National University of Singapore (NUS)
- Nanyang Business School (NTU)
- Singapore Management University (SMU)
- Rotterdam School of Management (RSM)
- ESSEC Business School
Profile
- Nationality: Indian
- Education: BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery)
- GMAT Focus: 625 (V83, Q83, DI77)
- Work Experience: ~4+ years
- 1 year as a General Dentist / Clinic Manager
- 3+ years in healthcare operations and medical-legal roles
- Additional Experience: Founder and lead of a dance initiative/community with 100+ dancers; choreography and creative leadership experience
- Post-MBA Goal: Healthcare consulting, health-tech strategy, healthcare marketing, or healthcare business operations in India, Europe, or Southeast Asia
I had initially assumed that my profile might be reasonably competitive for these Singapore and European programs because of my healthcare background and leadership experiences. However, after reading several discussions online, I’ve become unsure about whether applying now is the right move.

- Is my 625 GMAT within a reasonable range for each program, considering my overall profile?
- Does my combination of clinical experience, healthcare operations, and extracurricular leadership meaningfully differentiate my application?
- Based on my profile and career goals, what other MBA programs in Europe and India would you recommend that are realistic targets and have good outcomes in healthcare, consulting, or business roles?
For context, I’m particularly interested in 1-year MBA programs.

Your profile is quite differentiated because a BDS background combined with healthcare operations, medical-legal experience, and leadership of a 100+ member dance community gives you a distinctive story.
The 625 GMAT is the main weakness, so I would consider a retake and target 655–675 if possible, particularly for NUS, NTU and RSM.
For Singapore, NUS and NTU should be treated as ambitious options, while SMU could be a more realistic target depending on the rest of your application.
Your healthcare experience can be a real advantage, but your career goals need to be narrowed down—healthcare consulting or health-tech strategy would create a stronger narrative than listing several different possibilities.
Beyond the schools mentioned, I would strongly consider IMD, which is highly recommended for candidates interested in healthcare and consulting, along with Copenhagen Business School.
In the UK, Imperial and Warwick are also worth considering, particularly if you want to explore healthcare, consulting, or technology-related roles.

The bigger concern is career execution, especially in Singapore, rather than admission. Healthcare consulting or health-tech strategy is a sensible goal, but “healthcare consulting, health-tech, healthcare marketing, or operations across India/Europe/Southeast Asia” is currently too broad. We would choose one primary story, probably healthcare consulting/strategy, with healthcare industry roles as the backup. NUS and NTU provide strong Asian networks, but an Indian applicant attempting both a geography change and a function change needs to recruit very deliberately. If Europe is equally attractive, the previously considered IE/ESADE options remain highly relevant, alongside RSM and ESSEC.
