I am very interested in the MS Marketing program offered at Columbia, but there isn't much information regarding the program online.

I have a high GMAT score (750, Q51/V40) and 18 months of work experience, but my undergraduate GPA is rather low (3.3/4.0). I am wondering if there are any ways to make me a stronger applicant? All I can think of right now is to maybe take some relevant courses at a college extension.

It seems that the MS program is heavily research-based and undergraduate GPA is more important than work/internship experiences in this case...

Thanks everyone in advance for any information regarding the program!

With such a high quant score and very good GMAT, you shouldn't worry so much about your academic record. You certainly could take courses to show your ability to succeed in graduate level education, but I don't think it is necessary.

You should instead focus on rounding out the rest of your application:

What do you do outside of work and do you need to focus on the extra-curricular story?

Have you started on your essays and put enough thought to your professional story?

At this point, I recommend putting together a very strong application on the other fronts.

Feel free to email me if you want to discuss further

Good luck!

Don't think additional coursework with your profile is totally necessary. Your GMAT/GPA combo will be attractive to this program, I would focus on really communicating why this program as opposed to other similar programs offered at Columbia is the ideal fit for your development goals.

Hope this helps!
