What seems to be the reason for these declines?

- More applicants because of the pandemic (then) and because of test waivers
- Lower selectivity because some seats were already filled with deferrals from 2020

Some insights

37 schools have a decline in acceptance rate among the 51 schools used for this chart
Michigan Ross has the highest drop in acceptance rate among the top 20 schools
Only Harvard and Columbia have reported an increase in acceptance rates among the top 10 schools
Emory has the highest increase in the acceptance rate among the top 3 schools

What do you think of this comparison?

Thanks Nikhil. Some interesting data points here. Would be great to compare to running pre-Covid averages as well.

Particularly interesting to see schools of similar ranks/category reporting widely varying differences in selectivity, possibly reflecting the impact of class sizes and decision to waive/require scores. Would love your thoughts on this as well.
