Your submissions regarding job profile resemble the actuals. Minor variation should not be a problem.

Happy to help!

Q: Is it possible that a background check would reveal these discrepancies and would it be a problem?

A: No, it's unlikely the background check would pick up on these discrepancies. There are a looking more for employment period and employer. Titles can be tricky business (and don't really carry a ton of weight) so it's not something they focus on in their search.

Q: If so, what steps should I take to address any potential issues? I am curious to hear your thoughts.

A: So, there are no steps to be taken. You should just take a deep breath and recognize you will almost surely be fine. If in the extremely unlikely event they bring this up you will have the opportunity to clarify. The school is not going to rescind your acceptance for this reason.

Again, don't worry. You will be fine!

Hi all,

I have recently submitted my applications and am currently awaiting responses from schools. However, I am now concerned about potential background checks. I have a few questions regarding this matter:

1) At a previous job at a manufacturing company, I held the position of an associate, which is the standard entry-level role for recent graduates. However, my primary responsibilities included determining prices and I listed this role on my CV as a pricing analyst. This is not an official title and my HR records would list my job title as associate.

2) Next, I also had another employment of 7 months where I started as a junior and was promoted to senior within the first 3 months. Since it was a very short employment, I only included my last position (senior) on my CV and application.

Is it possible that a background check would reveal these discrepancies and would it be a problem? If so, what steps should I take to address any potential issues? I am curious to hear your thoughts.

Hey nina2022,

When it comes to a background check, it's important to highlight your most relevant experiences and responsibilities. You don't have to mention every single job or position you've held, but it's a good idea to focus on the most relevant ones.

It's totally fine to mention that you've been promoted or held different roles within an organization, but make sure to focus on the roles and responsibilities that are most relevant to the job or opportunity you're applying for. Just be honest and accurate when describing your past experiences. You don't have to provide proof, but it's important to create a clear picture of your qualifications and experience.

Remember, the goal is to create a strong profile that showcases your skills and experiences in a way that will make you stand out as a candidate.

HI! i submitted an application for a reputed mim program. However, i just noticed that i made an error in the name of the company i worked with. Do you think i should contact them? because if they do a background check, the company's name won't show up. The error is in my resume and in my essays in 2 places. Do you think that this will show up in the background check?
