Hi All,
I am resuming my GMAT prep after a hiatus of 7 years! I have the
Manhattan Prep bundle from 2012. Do you recommend using that or should I get a new one? Moreover, as I can see, is
Manhattan Prep now part of Kaplan?
Which is the highest recommended prep guide to familiarize with the concepts?
Thank you.
Hi and welcome back!
Yes, a number of years Kaplan had acquired
MGMAT but it has not really changed
MGMAT's quality and approach to teaching. Kaplan actually is focusing solely on
MGMAT as the class/course/guide provider.
If you are a book user like I am,
MGMAT is the best and probably only book option at this time I would recommend. Veritas Prep has been put on ice by their new owners while you were gone
If you are looking for courses, there are quire a few inexpensive ones and that has been the main focus and development in this space in the last 5 years.
As to the books, you are totally fine to use the 2012 version. GMAT has not changed what it is testing but there have been some changes since that edition came out 10 years ago:
1. IR (I am not sure if that covers it)
2. GMAT got shortened. Now there are 31 and 36 questions instead of 37 and 41
3. Section order choice
4. You can now take the test at home or at a test center
5. There are 6 GMAT Prep Tests (you have to buy 4, and 2 are free)
6. The latest
OG is
OG 2020 really since the following editions are just re-prints
7. GMAT Club has a
forum quiz system which is pretty cool:
