Hi Gmatclubbers and Experts,
I am glad that I am done with the GMAT and, currently, I am working on my applications.
I would like to know your suggestions regarding how best to connect to the alumni and current students of my target b-schools.
Firstly, I have to tell that I have shooted some mails to connect to a few current students at three of my target schools. However, I have not received any response from them even after 4 days. So, I was wondering if this delay is unusual. As I come from a client-servicing background, I find this unacceptable. But, I do understand that the current students might be busy in their schedules. Did some of you have similar experiences?
Secondly, I want to know the answer to: how current students look at such mails from prospective applicants? What do they hate in a mail from a prospective applicant?

Try reaching out to club leaders from student groups that are of interest to you. You can find names and contact info on the school website club pages. Also, depending on the school, you may be able to be directly paired with someone through the admissions office. I know Tuck specifically offers this opportunity.

I think a part of it could also be the level and caliber of questions.
If you send a few of the questions you could find online or here on GMAT Club then people will likely ignore your emails. However, if you have really taken the time to learn about the schools, and are asking a very specific/intelligent/strong question nobody else could answer, that's a diff story.
Also, you may able to get a lot of the questions answered by Adcom and they can also connect you to the right students who may have a good fit in terms of background and helpfulness.
