case in point is good but it doesn't have good cases to practice with for friends. get that book first, then How To Get Into the Top Consulting firms by T. Darling, then look around for Wharton/Tuck case books to prepare

Yup, I felt that Crack the Case was a much better book. The system for structuring problems is great!
