Thanks for sharing, although this is very basic considering in high school I did study it so i was able to solve it but I am surprised considering I have done the 24-25 OG (some easy questions are left though) and I didn't face a single question or maybe it was hidden in plain sight didn't look like coordinate geometry one like this. Although I am yet to face it in the mocks, and I have given all the official mocks atleast once.

But one thing I have judged is in some DI questions, graph lines are given and there you need to calculate slope to determine rate of change or line would be given in the form of variable and having basic knowledge of coordinate geometry is required to determine how to use it. Plus positive corelation and negative corelation questions are prevelant in MSR's and Tables which indeed is a concept from coordinate geometry.

Here's a coordinate geometry question one can find in the OG 2025-2026:

I think the important thing to keep in mind is that, while not common, coordinate geometry is technically considered "algebra" not geometry (not just by the GMAT, but also by the EA and the GRE). So make sure that you understand the general rules of slope and plotting a line with points and you'll be fine!
