There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I currently work selling trading software to investment firms. I have my CFA and I have some back/middle office experience at a couple of hedge funds. I was wondering if the one year program at Johnson could get me into a front office role in private wealth management or just plain asset management, perhaps even a sales sort of role in the investment world given my background. The employment statistics appear to be the same as for the 2 year group and I have enough experience. Do you miss a great deal of opportunity by not having that summer internship? It would be nice to not shell out the $$ for two years and get it done sooner.
I feel like it is some kind of transition in your career which one year can't help you, especially this field is not east to get in without previous experience. My advise is to open communication with current students and Cornell carer service or ,if possible, schedule a visit to discuss face-to face. It I will help you.
