Well I have a close friend who is currently enrolled at Cornell Tech. He told me that their interview Qs center around your past exposure or WE in the tech field. It was apparently really short and casual. He was accepted at Kellogg & Goizueta too for their one year programs, and regrets enrolling at Cornell Tech. Small class size, no campus, no pre-established networking opportunities, not much recruiting, expensive living costs,… etc. If anything, he thinks he should have applied to the Ithaca program, which is what I did. If you want me to get you more detailed info on the interview, PM me.

Thanks chewme85! That was helpful.
I PMed you as well.

I've been getting a lot of messages, asking about why my friend was unhappy with his decision to enroll at Cornell Tech. So I think I need to clarify a few things.

I think it had a lot to do with Cornell Tech being new. He had a choice of either attending Kellogg or Johnson, but ended up choosing Johnson for its location and financial aid package. But with Cornell tech not yet having their campus ready, his experience was not as great as it COULD have been. Having said that, there really isn't really any better option besides Kellogg in the US for one year MBA programs. Mendoza at Notre Dame has a solid one year program and said to offer many scholarships, but Mendoza isn't really at the same level as the other two. And Kellogg, if not for marketing or consulting, isn't that much better than Johnson. If you are an international candidate, this is even more so as Northwestern in general isn't as well-known as Ivys outside this country.

So unless you get a full ride from Emory, USC or Notre Dame, you really have only two options, Kellogg or Johnson.
Let's say you are looking to apply to one year MBA programs, then...
1. If you are interested in consulting or marketing --> Kellogg without a doubt
2. If you are interested in finance --> Kellogg
2. If you are interested in tech/healthcare/engineering --> Johnson
3. If you are an international applicant --> Johnson

As for Ithaca vs. NYC,
1. If you want a more traditional MBA experience --> Ithaca
2. If you want NYC --> Cornell Tech
3. If you want to work for Google --> Cornell Tech
4. If you are an engineer or computer scientist --> Cornell Tech
5. If you want more scholarship opportunities --> Ithaca
6. If you want to benefit from the Johnson alumni network --> Ithaca
