IMO E

D refers to "weeds that compete with tomatoes" (out of scope)

I choose E,

I think D is strengthen coz weed, which compete tomato, cannot tolerate manesium, then help tomatoes grow more.
This infers that manesium benefit tomatoes which support argument.

Yes, E.

A. supports the conclusion. Only small amount leached.
B. Irrelevant as effect of magnesium is being talked about.
C. Neutral.
D strengthens the conclusion.

I won't say D is out of scope, but E is dfinitely better than D so OA is E. In absence of E i wud have picked up D
