I think it’s advisable to go from weak to enable you have a strong grasp of the concepts before working on hard questions

When you say starting from route, do you mean from the beginning from zero? Just trying to clarify what root is. Thx

bb, Thoughts?
Hi. Thx for the ping.

There is big problem with this question and whole deal....

We had one of the GMAC representatives last summer on video and I think can find it on YouTube I think mentioned that GMAT is indeed section adaptive. They’ve tried to walk back on This and then said it was not section adaptive. Then finally said it was but it has very low impact.

One problem with this information is that nobody really knows the impact and GMAC downplayed it and don’t want to talk about it much more. I’ll see if we can find a way to resolve this black box. However, some folks use some of this unknown to saw fear. That’s the main issue with this whole section adaptive thing.

The best advice I have seen is to basically ignore this whole thing and don’t worry about wrapping your mind around it. That’s probably best when you deal with uncertainty because it’s impossible to have a great solution for Something we do not understand. There’s been quite a few debates about this on the forum as well. I’m happy to find some discussions that transpired...

There is also a long debate here: gmat-focus-algorithm-importance-of-the-first-6-questions-is-gone-418176-80.html

There seems some clarification needed to specify that some tests are section adaptive only (e.g. GRE or EA - the whole section is set ahead of time and depending on how you do in the previous one, that determines which one of the 3 pre-determined sections you get next). GMAT is question-adaptive test where each question determines that next question. nothing is pre-determined. However, there seems to be a component of influence that is carried over from section to another that has very subtle impact (best guess) and GMAC has downplayed it to say that it is not people should be concerned about 🤷‍♂️

Just for everyone’s information that GMAC is organising The MBA tour where we will meet top universities in person and the GMAC representatives. Hope they will shed come light regarding the confusion of section adaptivity of the real test. Thanks!

Which section order do you recommend if I have roughly same scores in the 3 sections? I prefer Q and DI over Verbal but at the same time it stresses me more and I noticed I need warm up early at the morning

and my scores in DI have the widest range, from 76-83 in the official practice exams

i think , flatten out your confidence and prep in all sections as much as you can, then work on strengths. altho keep doing verbal, else you’ll loose the progress youve made
