i) No
Items that experienced a decrease in both returns and items sold= 1 (Levis) hence we can say that it is not true that "exactly 25%' that experienced a decrease in both was Levis. rather it is 100%

ii) No
The jeans type experiencing the greatest percentage increase in total returns from 2011 to 2012= Straight 36 (18.6%)
Lowest Percentage decrease in the total number of items sold=Flare 34 (-2.1%) and this is the lowest among any jeans type hence this statement is not true

iii) No
The jeans type with the lowest rank based on total returns = Levi's
The type with the lowest rank based on total items sold= Guess

A. Exactly 25% of the items that experienced a decrease in both total returns and total items sold are Levi's.

Item(s) that experienced a decrease in both total returns and total items sold = only one ie, Levi's

Hence, the statement (A) is FALSE

B. The jeans type experiencing the greatest percentage increase in total returns from 2011 to 2012 also experienced the lowest percentage decrease in the total number of items sold.

Greatest percentage increase in total returns from 2011 to 2012 = Lee (Straight , 36)
Lowest percentage decrease in total number of items sold = Guess (Straight, 34)

For Jeans type, -----> (Straight , 36) 'is not equal to' (Straight , 34)

Hence, the statement (B) is FALSE

C. The jeans type with the lowest rank based on total returns is the same as the type with the lowest rank based on total items sold.

lowest rank based on total returns = Levi's (Flare, 36)

lowest rank based on total items sold = Guess (Straight , 36)

For Jeans type, -----> (Flare , 36) 'is not equal to' (Straight , 36)

Hence, the statement (C) is also FALSE

Official Explanation

Although Majority has got the statement 1 correct but many has awful reasoning against it. They will not get the equal points as the ones who give the correct reasoning.

Exactly 25% of the items that experienced a decrease in both total returns and total items sold are Levi's.

Only one jeans type experienced a decrease in both total returns and total items sold. This type was a Levi's Flare, so it is not correct to say that 25% of the items that experienced a decrease in both total returns and total items sold are Levi's.

Answer: False

The jeans type experiencing the greatest percentage increase in total returns from 2011 to 2012 also experienced the lowest percentage decrease in the total number of items sold.

The jeans type experiencing the greatest percentage increase in total returns from 2011 to 2012 was the Lee Straight 36 jeans. This type experienced a percentage increase in
the total number of items sold.

Answer: False

The jeans type with the lowest rank based on total returns is the same as the type with the lowest rank based on total items sold.

Levi's Flare 36 jeans are the type with the lowest rank based on total returns, while Guess Straight 36 jeans are the type with the lowest rank based on total items sold.

Answer: False

The total number of Guess Straight 36 jeans returned in 2011 was 606.

The total number of Guess Straight 36 jeans returned in 2012 was 545. This represents a 10.1% decrease from the 2011 returns. If there were 606 returns in 2011, then a 10.1% decrease would be 606 − 61, or 545, returns total in 2012.
