Nationality: Indian
Sex: Male
Age: 24
Intake: Fall’23

Education Background: Electronics and Communication Engineering with a CGPA of 8.1/10

Professional Background: Currently working as a Strategy Manager at a leading product based manufacturing company. Work involves Strategy development and Strategy Consulting to the CXO’s. Two role based promotions in 2 years, considering my performance. Started out as a Supply Chain intern in my pre-final year of bachelor’s, earned a full-time position of Project Management Specialist, then IT Product Manager followed by a promotion as Strategy Manager. (Massive reorganization helped me here)

Though my academic background was into engineering, I had been working in the fields of Supply Chain, Project/Product Management and Strategy.

GMAT: Attempt 1- 700 (Q51, V35, IR 3, AWA 4)
Attempt 2 - 760 (Q50, V44, IR 1) I blew up the AWA and IR which was the first part of my GMAT order. Due to technical jitters, lags and various issues such as the proctor not able to launch the exam for an hour etc, I lost focus and messed up with the initial sections.

EC’s - Student Head at a technical student organization during my UG
UN Volunteer Assignments ( Preventing Human Trafficking in Cameroon, Raising education funds for underprivileged girls in Kenya)

Post-MBA goal - Continue in the same domain of (Strategy) Consulting at MBB or the Big 4.

B-Schools: T15-T25 with good scholarship Considering the fact that I would have 3 years of experience while applying in R1 next year - Do I have a fair shot at the T15-T25 with a scholarship? I strongly believe that I have a quality work experience which could position my 3 year WE (Or maybe not - open to an opinion)

Naven hi,
you have a very good profile!
Academics sound great, professional career sounds great, and ECs sound amazing
Sorry about the IR / AWA. usually, schools look for 4+ in these but I have seen b-schools sometimes ignore this (just don’t forget to explain in the optional essay what happened!)
I see no reason why u don’t make it into a top 15-25 school next year with decent scholarship money...
if interested in support, I suggest we chat around May? which will give us plenty of time for some R1 kick-ass applications :)
So, keep my email and put a reminder to speak on May 1st? or send me a note now, and I’ll put a reminder for both of us :) (I am on shimriw@ARINGO.com)
good luck!

shambu hi,
To be honest, my advice is quite simple: GMAT GMAT GMAT GMAT
how can I advise on schools, locations and others without knowing your GMAT :)
Education seems great, career seems very interesting and it looks like you have fast-tracked and are already doing a very senior role!
Once you take the GMAT and tell me if you prefer EU or US, we can go through some schools and chances etc.
so
a. GMAT!
b. reach out on shimriw@ARINGO.com
c. we start working around May/June on some amazing R1 apps
d. you start studying in Sep-2023!

a plan? as always, I am on shimriw@ARINGO.com for when you complete your GMAT
GOOD LUCK!
