Hey guys! So I had my interview with a second year student on Zoom. After exchanging Hellos, we talked about the weather for next 2-3 minutes. It was a great ice breaker. (Chicago weather is worth talking about) The next 45 minutes were questions one after the other but it never felt rushed. My interviewer was very patient. He asked me about my resume, time when I motivated a team, when I helped someone and received help, biggest professional achievement, follow up questions on my answers, LT and ST goals and what inspired me to have these goals, why MBA, why now, why Booth, courses I am particularly interested in at Booth, how will I contribute to Booth. I also took pauses after the questions because I didn’t want to sound overly rehearsed and I guess it’s only human to think of relevant situations for every question and then answer. The last 15 minutes were all about understanding his experience at Booth, Chicago city and the food there! His international trips with Boothies, some of the school’s traditions etc. All in all it was a very warm and comfortable interview experience. Hope this helps. All the best :)

A situation when you felt or saw someone being marginalized? What did you do? How did you create an inclusive environment? Questions for me?

The interview itself was very conversational, with a second year student. Lasted for 1 hour. The interviewer started by their own introduction before asking me questions. - Tell me about yourself - Why MBA/short term & long term goals, why now - Follow up question about long term goal, we spent quite a bit of time on this - Tell me about your leadership style - Tell me about a time when you give feedback to someone - Why Fuqua specifically? - Have you talked to any alumni? What did they say about Fuqua? - Your planned contribution to the Fuqua community? (I basically just re-iterated my essay). It went into back-and-forth discussions from there after I was invited to ask questions. My question - the interviewer's answer - then either one of us asked follow up questions. Although it did not become very structured, I enjoyed the overall conversation and I think the interviewer did, too. I guess don't be afraid to build rapport with the interviewer, let he/she be in a good mood to assess you. Have some questions about Fuqua handy - you want to be perceived as someone who has researched about this school well. Good luck everyone!

I was interviewed in Chennai. The panel consisted of 2 members. One was from CO17 I guess. Other was a little bit senior(Atleast 10 years more than the first member). They did not introduce themselves and went straight to questioning. It was a very friendly interview. Btw, I am a re-applicant and added a little bit about it at the end. Questions asked: 1. What do you do at your current org? 2. What project were you most excited about? 3. Why do you want to get into ISB ? (I mentioned about my goals too when answering this. I think that's why they didn't ask me separately about my Post-MBA goals) 4. How will your peers learn from you? 5. Tell me about your hobbies. 6. Any questions for us ? I applied to ISB in R1 for the CO23. I was interviewed, waitlisted and then finally rejected. I did my entire application myself including GMAT prep. Never took any mock interviews and was overconfident, so was not very shocked with the result though I felt bad. Then I applied again in R2 for the CO24. Again did my app on my own, but did some research this time, networked with a few successful applicants from R1, and took a mock with an ISB alum.

I was interviewed by an alum based in India. The interview lasted 1 hour 45 minutes. He started by saying that the conversation will be informal and I shouldnt treat this as an interview. Basic Qs - Why MBA/ Why now/Why Duke/ Why Team Fuqua Follow ups on what research I have done in deciding my post MBA goals. Situational - All questions around teamwork. What role I play in teams/How to motivate someone in team/Best leadership story/Best and worst things about working in team. My only advice is to sound too excited to be working in teams.

This was a tough one. My interviewer panel was kind of stern. They asked the standard questions - tell me about yourself, why MBA, why ISB. But pushed a lot on why MBA. I think being from a nonprofit background they also didn't really understand my industry which is why. In addition, asked a bunch of behavioural questions, mostly about how I work in a team. They were tough so I was quite nervous, and I had no idea how it really went at the end, but I ended up being admitted.
