I had an amazing interview with a 2nd year student. It was a two way conversation that I really enjoyed. After each answer I gave she would add a little insight or feedback. “You’re right, Rice does sound like a great school for your goals”; “I know a lot of people in that club they have a really tight bond”; “Another thing at Rice that could be really helpful to you is…” She shared her story and really helped me see how Rice helps their students. They questions were standard but we would chat after most of them and there were personal follow-up questions. It was truly an interview for me and for them.
Tell me about yourself / resume.
What are you post mba goals?
Why an mba?
Why Rice?
What will you bring to Jones?
What kind of experience do you have with diversity?
How will you decide which school to attend?
Is there anything more you’d like me to share with the adcom?
What questions do you have for me.
The interview took about 20 minutes and it was so friendly we talked for another 20 minutes after about Rice, the Houston community, and everything else.

Interviewed by an alum. The interview was split in 2 parts, 30 mins for the actual interview and 15 mins for Q&A.
The interviewer started with a personal introduction and gave an overview of what the interview would be like.
1. Tell me about yourself/experiences you have had so far
2. What is one achievement that you are proud of and why.
3. What has been the biggest challenge you have faced so far and how did you deal with it.
4. How did you convince your team to take up a new project and how did you deal with the challenges. (very specific question to something I had mentioned earlier)
5. How would your team members describe you.
6. Why MBA, why now.
7. Why Kellogg.
8. How will you contribute to the class at Kellogg, what differentiates you.
9. What is one area you seek to improve.
I had multiple follow-up questions on each individual question. Overall it was very conversational and the interviewer paid attention to every word I said so was asking very specific questions based on my profile.

My interview was with a 2nd-year student. It lasted 45 minutes.
I’ve had six interviews so far. This one was my first that was an actual conversation rather than an interview. He gave feedback and asked follow-up questions for all of my answers. We flowed together in the same direction rather than the specific set of predetermined questions.
Tell me about yourself.
Walk me through your resume.
Tell me about a time you failed and how you learned from that experience.
What has been your greatest achievement?
What are your short and long-term goals?
Why Mcdonough?
How will you choose which school to attend? How important is a scholarship?
What questions do you have for me?

It was a great interview, very conversational and she was engaged and interested. I also looked her up on LinkedIn prior to the interview so we chatted about her company before anything which made it feel a lot more conversational and comfortable the rest of the time.
- started with tell me about yourself
- Why and MBA and why Ross blended together (took some time to just chat about all this rather than question response)
- TMAT you worked on a team
- TMAT you disagreed with a teammate or boss
- TMAT you missed something major (with a few follow up questions on how the controls I implemented were continued through the rest of my career).
Overall great experience.

6. Long term goals
7. Tell me about a time you convinced people to solve a problem your way.

I interviewed in Mumbai for the 10:45am slot.
2 Panellists, both alumni.
- Introduce yourself
- Why MBA? Why Product management?
- Which companies am I targeting Post MBA?
- Asked about my current role in the firm
- How do I resolve conflict and lead teams being the youngest in my current role.
- Why can't I get into my desired role without MBA
- Some grilling on why not consulting/ operations Post MBA - why only product management?
- As a re-applicant, how has your profile changed?
- Nitpicked a few of my extra curriculars and asked questions on the same
- Any questions for us?
Went on for about 30mins, it was fairly conversational for the most bit.
Personally I was a tad nervous as this was my first MBA interview, but I held my ground to the best of my capabilities :)

I had both my interviews a day apart.
Interview #1
Alum of class '09. He started off with the standard
- Why HEC
- Why Europe
- Which other colleges I applied to
- My current role and industry
- Short term and long term goals
- How will I finance the MBA
He then asked me to present my PPT. Asked a few questions on the technology and disagreed with a few of my points. I subsequently clarified them.
We did not go through all the slides, as he concluded the interview and gave me a few pointers on applying for scholarships and loans. I asked him questions on his MBA journey, which he was happy to answer. Overall we quickly wrapped up the call in 30mins.
Interview #2
We started with my presentation. He sat through all of it and asked me some applications of the tool which I had used (my topic was an AI tool)
We delved into the Why HEC, Why MBA
- Post MBA goals
- Behavioural questions such as how I resolve conflicts at workplace
- What have I prepared for adjusting to life in France
- Which companies do I plan to apply post HEC
- Any startups? (I had mentioned Big techs)
- Any other initiatives I was part of apart from work?
- Biggest challenge faced?
- Which specialisation I would consider?
- He said I would probably be the youngest in the batch. How would I bridge this gap? (I wasn't expecting this question)
He was taking notes throughout the interview and really delved into every aspect to get to know me as a person. I asked him about his MBA journey, about certain courses, the outbound experience, study exchange trips and his current role. Towards the end we were chatting and joking about. (I joked about how my mother would rather have me married than go for an MBA!). Interview lasted for an hour and was a pleasant experience which I will cherish despite the admit outcome!

3) Tell me about a time you faced resource crunch
4) What makes a good team?
5) Post MBA goals
6) Upsides and downsides of a multi disciplinary campus
7) Anything not on your resume you would like to share?
8) Any questions for me?
Interview was wrapped up pretty quickly in 15-20 minutes and I was told an update to the application station would be conveyed on 15th Feb.

It was very conversational interview with the AdCom (over a coffee)
She set the modality for the interview and told me about how she would be conducting the interview.
1. TMAY (Life story, background, experience and life outside of work)
2. Why I wanted to pursue an MBA? And why Darden?
3. Why I wanted to move into Consulting? (Had talked about this)
4. Experiences with DE&I (Had mentioned on my volunteering experiences)
5. General outlook on India and how I go about my role at work?
6. Questions for her
I hope this helps. Fingers crossed now!

I had an interview yesterday (06th feb 2023). I was interviewed by 2 people - from adcom and career development. The interview lasted little over 30min. Both of them took turns to ask their respective questions.
The questions were as follows (what I can remember) -
- Walk me through your resume at a high level.
- Why MBA? Why Fisher?
- Short and long term goal? How does your short term help in achieving long term goal?
- Which leader do you look upto and why?
- Tell us about a time when there was a difference of opinion within the team? how did you resolve it? what did you learn?
- what is the best part of your job?
- Tell us about a time when you did not arrive at the result you had wanted? what did you do? what you learnt?

Interviewed with a second year student from Adcom. She did a wonderful job of making me feel comfortable because I was a bit nervous.
The interview lasted for about 35 mins.
It’s a blind interview, meaning all they know about you is from your resume. They don’t know about your grades or gmat or anything. So give this your best shot and talk about yourself.
It’s okay if you falter in between say once or twice, the interviewer is really kind and will give you that time and help you calm you down.
Ensure that you’re answering the questions as asked, it’s okay if you’re a little verbose but as long as you answer the question, it’s fine. Give examples as much as you can.
All the best to all others who are interviewing for Kelley!
Questions asked-
1. Tell me about yourself?
2. Why MBA? Why now?
3. Why Kelley?
4. How do you resolve conflicts within a team? Can you give me an example when you did the same?
5. Tell me about your short term goals immediately post MBA
6. What’s your leadership style like?
7. What’s your role in a team?
At the end she asked if I had any questions for her. I had about 2-3 questions and that’s all.
She said the decisions will be out by mid March and all you gotta do is wait.

It was a very conversational interview and the Adcom member was aware of my application in entirety (Essays, Work Exp and Goals)
Focus was majorly on some pointed focus areas which I had emphasized on in my essays. Some pointed questions on why MBA? why Tepper? what is leadership style and how do you plan to bring your experience and help the overall Tepper community?
As I had mentioned experience around volunteering in DE&I teams at workplaces, I was also asked what I felt about DE&I and how I would bring those values to the Tepper community.

Hi all, currently preparing for the interview, and some of the questions seem tricky. For instance, what questions to ask the dean and which other schools we apply to?
I want to ask smart questions for the dean, but I don’t really have any particular, and I don’t want Rotman to think I’m not interested in their program if I tell them which other schools I have applied to.
Would appreciate some advice on these questions!
You are welcome to customize some from the following: I see you studied/worked at [other school]. How does this school compare to that school?
What are some of the qualities you see in successful students in the MBA program? Or What common traits do successful students in this program tend to have?
How do you suggest I prepare myself for the MBA program?
How does my profile fit into the school’s diversity and inclusion policy and goals? Are there any statistics you can point me towards?
Are you anticipating any significant additions/changes to the MBA program?
Bearing in mind my goals, where do you suggest I focus my time and effort during the program?
Based on my profile, are there any other contributions I may be able to make that I haven’t thought of?
Looking objectively at the program, where is there room for improvement?
How does your program/the admissions committee define student success?
What new specializations or courses are currently under development?
Who are some successful alumni you like to talk about?
If you were in my position, with my career goals, what would you say are your program’s biggest advantages?

1) why Rotman , 2) why MBA now 3) walk me through your resume after UG 4) if you had the chance to ask 3 questions to the rotman dean what would it be . 4th is pretty common as well.
My 2 cents -> be yourself and keep it conversational. If you know how to leave crums in the conversation which could make a talking point later the in the conversation . Do so . It helps to have a bit of control on the direction of the convo. Overall , do not try to give them the perfect answer , give them the almost truth answers . For instance why Rotman -> makes the immigration to Canada easier. don’t say it blatantly but giving the answer on these lines would work . They know it is the truth and aiming for a better life after MBA is not a bad plan by any measure .And don’t be surprised if the interview doesn’t last super long (40-45 min) my interview was only around 15-20 min . Ad-coms are busy people and less time does not equate to straight up Rejection (in my experience).

Community assessment experience.
Same Qs as the debrief posted. However, 1 question to add (that honestly made me a little uneasy): "what’s your alternative plan if MBA doesn’t work out?" (not just short term alternative plan, but the degree altogether itself). Did anyone get asked this question before?
Everything else - the interviewer was informative and conversational.

Just standard questions:
Why MBA? Why Jones? TMAT when you resolved a conflict. TMAT a time when you lead a team. How would you contribute to the community?
