I interviewed with a member of the admissions committee this week. I do not believe she had seen my application, only my resume. My interview lasted 30 minutes. It was not on Microsoft Teams (as noted in the interview invite) but on Zoom. Walk me through your resume. Do you oversee anyone at your current job? What leadership opportunities have you had? What do you attribute to the success of your career? Why do you want an MBA? What are your post mba goals? Why Marshall? What will you bring to Marshall? Have you talked to any students or alumni? What is one soft skill that you are working to improve on? What are your top three strengths? How would your friends describe you? Is there anything more I should know about you? Do you have any questions for me? What do you like most about your job? What could your boss/company improve on? One more question was how would your friends describe you. A tip I would give is to present your answer and then give background information or additional context. I tried explaining why I’m different from my friends and because of this they would describe me a certain way. The interviewer took this that I didn’t understand the question. This might have docked me points. Another issue I had was anticipating future questions. When they asked why USC Marshall I should have talked about more specifics like classes/clubs/ examples from students I talked to, how specifically USC can help me get from A to B. I expected them to ask what courses I’m interested in or if I had talked to any students. They didn’t and I didn’t get to “show off”

"Had an interview with an adcom member. It was a ~30 min interview. It was not a blind interview, he had gone through my application and it was very conversational. 1) First he shared his background & prof exp. and then asked me the TMAY question . 2) Why MBA? 3) Why Tepper? 4) What are your post MBA goals? 5) What does diversity and inclusivity mean to you, why is this important for an MBA program and how did these values guide you through your professional and personal life? 6) TMA your leadership style and how do you intend to improve it? 7) Is there anything you’d like to add that you haven’t shared today or in your application? 8) Do you have any questions for me? 20 min interview & 8-10 min follow-up question" He spent a lot of time on the diversity topic throughout.

Ms. Virginia Gilbert ( https://www.linkedin.com/in/virginia-he ... t-3a09843/ ) from the Admissions committee was my interviewer. She is a Darden alum from the Class of 1997. She seemed convinced with most of my answers and even elaborated on some points as to how I can use the KF resources to get into consulting! It lasted for about 25 minutes. Most questions revolved around the following: 1. My choice of UG major 2. Why second MBA (I already have a PGDM from an Indian B-school) 3. A situation where I had a conflict with a team member 4. My leadership style 5. Why Kenan Flagler 6. Best part about my job She did not ask me about my goals but mentioned that she had read my essays and knew that I wanted to do consulting. But true to what all current students and alumni told me, it was indeed very conversational.

I just had my interview. I feel really good about it. My adcom made it comfortable and conversational. It was about getting to know me. Very straightforward. They weren’t trying to trick me or quiz me. 1. Why mba? 2. Why now? 3. Why Goizueta? 4. Walk me through your resume, a few follow up or clarification questions. 5. Why your undergrad? 6. What will you bring to Emory? 7. Tell me about your current role and if you oversee anyone. 8. What’s your post mba plan? Which location? 9. What questions do you have for me. They seemed to be on a strict 30 minute limit but I had 6 minutes or so for questions. They didn’t ask if I had talked to any alumni I had spoken with nor any clubs/classes that I was interested in. The adcom had reviewed my resume but not my application. A second person does that and they correlate together and with the team to make a decision.

It was more of a personalized set up for me based on my application but let me give it here in context Interview flow of patterns 1. They asked about my passion of tennis to begin with - Took this from my essay answers - So commenced with something to begin with. Very interesting start to know a candidate 2. Why did I study Business Administration in my undergrad - Why Loyola - How was the experience - Did you have any major in your undergrad 3. Did you always know you wanted to pursue the world of business ? Whats the source of trigger on this 4. Why MBA ? - While answering this , i also indicated why i wanted to study at UNC 5. Explain what makes you a good leader - How would you deliver negative feedback to your team ? 6. Walk me through your professional career till date In the middle candidly spoke about my career aspirations (ST and LT) - So the question of whats my ST and LT was covered automatically. These were the questions - Very engaging interview
