Interview atmosphere was relaxed, and definitely very conversational! Nothing radically surprising that popped up during the interview. See below for questions:
1. Walk me through your resume.
2. How do you prioritize your time? (Follow up: how will you prioritise your time between academics, networking and social life at Booth?)
3. What are you most proud of?
4. Tell me about a time when you fell short.
5. Tell me about a time you motivated a team.
6. You could pursue IB without an MBA. So why MBA?
7. Why MBA?
8. Why Booth?
9. Any questions for me?

Interview felt like a rapid-fire round of questions, and there weren’t any questions tailored to my application. Most questions were along expected lines based on the interview reports I have read, but there was a question on working with incomplete data, which I had not come across in any previous interview reports, so would definitely make sure to prepare a story for that.
1. Any updates to your application?
2. Tell me about your data visualization.
3. What does a typical day at work look like for you?
4. If you’re at dinner with your cousins, how would you describe what you do for a living?
5. What do you do to relax?
6. Tell me about a time you convinced people to solve a problem your way.
7. Tell me about a time you mentored someone at your firm.
8. Tell me about a time when you had to make a recommendation based on incomplete data (this was one I didn’t prepare for, but managed to dig up a recent example, so would definitely watch out for this one).
9. Why MBA now?
10. Why Sloan?
11. Any questions for me?

Interview was very conversational and was conducted by a member of the admissions committee. Based on the interview reports I had read, I was expecting to be challenged on my short-term goals and recruiting strategy, but that part of the interview felt tougher than expected. So my number 1 tip would be to make sure you can defend your short-term goal and make a case for how Stern will help you get there, especially if you intend on recruiting for traditional industries like IB or consulting.
1. Question from Pick 6
2. Summary of your career post graduation?
3. What does a typical day at work look like for you?
4. Short-term goals?
5. Companies you will be targeting in IB?
6. Recruiting Plan for IB?
7. What do you think is the toughest part of recruiting in IB?
8. What will give you an edge in IB recruiting?
9. What will you do if you don’t get an internship/job in your target industry?
10. How will you get to your long-term goal given it is niche? (The long-term goal I wrote about was very niche, so I had to explain how my short-term goal and resources as Stern will help me get there)
11. Clubs you want to be a part of at Stern?
12. A time you demonstrated EQ?
13. Anything else you want the admissions committee to know?
14. Any questions for me?

Kira Interview:
The video interview consists of 2 questions, 1 of which you will be told in advance (within your interview invite email) and the 2nd question is supposed to be random (from a repository of behavioral / leadership-traits based questions) which you'll only know on the spot.
You are sent your Kira login credentials a few days after the interview invite, and you can instantly log in and start practicing and getting used to the portal. Whenever you start a question, you get 45 seconds to prepare and 90 seconds to answer - that's how its going to be when you execute the real thing as well. You will be given a deadline by which you should have submitted the Kira interview so watch out for that. It is advised to finish it a day in advance to avoid any technical misfortunes on the deadline date.
The 1st question was about what you think is unique about the LBS MBA program. Since I had enough time to prepare I was ready and confident about my answer. I ensured my background was clean and uncluttered, my appearance was formal and pleasant. I was suited up for the recording but you may choose to be comfortable in business casuals.
The 2nd question shot at me was about what I would be doing if I wasn't in the career I'm already in - to be honest, I wasn't really prepared for a question in this domain, but since my post-MBA goals talk about what I really want to do, I stuck to that theme.
To summarize:
- Practice Practice Practice
- Ensure you are presentable
- Maintain a clean, uncluttered & pleasant video feed
- Breathe! You are given 45 seconds to think about your answer, structure it wisely before you start.
Main Interview:
I was connected with my interviewer just 10 days before the interview deadline, so I quickly reached out and set a time. It was with a senior partner at Mckinsey (Alumn from 2002), in the same city and I insisted on meeting in-person, which my interviewer gladly agreed to. The interview was scheduled in his office and I reached 10 minutes in advance. The interview began with the expected question where I was asked to talk about myself - so it's important that you are prepared. I'm a reapplicant so I addressed that element myself and spoke about why I was passionate about LBS and how my profile and experiences have evolved over my previous application to make me a better fit.
My interviewer had my CV, my entire application and a feedback form printed out and he was taking notes throughout. We connected over a trip I had taken recently and he was genuinely interested in my experience, we ended up talking about that for around 10 minutes. Next we moved on to my career goals and why I wanted to do, what I had written about in my application. He probed into my international experiences and whether I had any relevant knowledge about my future career goals, which I honestly feel I could have answered better.
Next we talked about why LBS and which other schools I've applied to. I hadn't applied any school when giving the interview, but I did tell him about my plans to apply to a few other schools if LBS did not work out. He was keen on understanding why I had chosen the other schools that I mentioned.
45 minutes in, and the interviewer brought out the case - It was something that the school had sent him for the interview. I was carrying blank papers and pens so he was impressed that I was prepared. The case was fairly simple - a situation-based branding strategy problem with 3 possible solutions, I was asked to provide my suggestion with reasons. I was given 10 minutes to prepare and my interviewer walked out of the room. In this time I structured my answer and made notes about my presentation (you are not supposed to make a PowerPoint presentation, you are only expected to gather your thoughts and talk about what your suggestion to the case question is). My interviewer walked in after 10 minutes and gave me 5 minutes to talk about my opinion. He heard me intently and after I was done, there were no questions. He seemed impressed and mentioned "very good" at the end of my presentation.
Then I was asked if I had any questions - we spoke about how LBS helped in his career path after the MBA, and also about London's culture and overall environment.
Overall the interview lasted a little over an hour and I walked out very relieved (that the process was finally over)! I was confident about the whole conversation and walked into the closest Starbucks for a coffee to relax. Funny story - my interviewer walked in to the Starbucks just 10 minutes later. We shook hands, said goodbye, he grabbed his lunch to-go and left.
To summarize:
- Suit up
- Be punctual
- Try and do the interview in-person (I personally believe it creates a better impact and allows the interviewer to get to know you better)
- Don't lose confidence if you don't answer a question as well as you thought you could, pick yourself up and focus on the next one.
- The interviewer is not looking for reasons to reject you. The interviewer is only looking for reasons to cement the admissions committee's confidence in your application.

Interviewed with a second-year student.
It was very conversational. Overall interview lasted for about 40 minutes.
1. Tell me about yourself - She specifically mentioned that I start with some childhood stories coz she wanted to know more about my formative experiences. I spoke for about 3 minutes and then she started asking about a few things I had touched upon.
2. How many people do you manage? Break-up across levels and countries?

4. What's your leadership style?
5. Have you ever delivered difficult feedback? How did you approach it?
6. Where do you want to work post-MBA (geography, target companies)? Would you consider coming back to current employer?
7. Talked a little about my hobbies, and we uncovered few things we were both interested in.
8. Any questions for me?

I submitted my application on 15th October, pretty much the last day
I got my interview invite on 24th October asking to set up a call.
Based on mutual availability my interview was set on 28th October with Tyler Neal, a current student in their second year.
I was kind of amused to see I have been mapped to Tyler, both of us belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community and my profile being pro-LGBT. I don’t think that’s a coincidence though.
Tyler was friendly throughout and clarified it would be more of a conversation.
I will list out my questions:
1. Introduce yourself so that I may know you better.
2. Why Kelley School of Business?
3. What is your leadership style, and if not a leader than what role would you take?
4. Examples of organizational prowess that you have showed.
5. Community work (LGBT+NGO)
6. Example of a conflict and how you resolved it.
7. If you haven’t mentioned anything through your application or interview yet, please let us know.
8. Any questions that you have for me
The interview lasted about 45 minutes . I was asked to look out for a decision after a month or so.

My background : 3 years of Pharma Consulting, 1 year of FMCG (manufacturing), NIT alum
Round 3 interview
I waited for ~30 min in the waiting room. If it happens with you, I understand anxiety will shoot up but be calm and breathe, everything will be fine.
There were 3 panelists. 2 of those asked questions with one having ~6 years of work experience (Panelist 1) and the other one was pretty senior with ~13 years of work experience (Panelist 2).
P1: Tell me about a typical project in Pharma Consulting
Me : Told them about a typical project in a structured manner and in simple language so that they understand
P1: Why MBA? Why ISB?
Me: told them 3 pointers, essentially to up-skill myself.
P1: Your short term goal says you want to do consulting, weren't you already in consulting?
Me : Told them that I want to do front-end consulting going forward and that will require certain skill set which I will gain from ISB
P2 (P2 is pretty senior and asked me situational questions based on my work experience)
P2: You keep telling about this tool you have used in your firm, if you had to build it from scratch, how would you do it ?
Me: Told him since I am not a developer I won't be able to build myself but I told him the algorithm and certain metrics to consider to build the same.
P2: uses some jargon around sales reps incentivise which I couldn't understand
Me: Sir, I didn't get it. Could you please elaborate a bit on the problem statement
P2: Simplified the language so I understand the question, it was a case with a mix of both of my previous jobs
Me: Answered the question
P2: Can you think of any other reasons?
Me: Sir, I didn't work in this area so I don't have in depth understanding of the same
P2: Makes sense! Could you think of any other reason in general?
Me : Just give me a minute to think, then came up with new reasons and elaborated on the same
P2: good
P1: That's great! You were able to think on your feet
P1: tell us more about your NIT experience, how was your college life?
Me (since a lot of my interview was based on professional background, took this opportunity to highlight few of my extra curricular activities
P1: great to hear that! Thanks
They did not ask me if I had any questions for them.
Tips: Be calm, be confident, take time if you are not able to think clearly, understand the question correctly, be prepared for general questions like why ISB, why MBA, why now. Be thorough with your essays.
You are gonna ace it! All the best!
