Had my interview last night (I applied in R2) Duration: 25 mins Questions asked: - Introduce yourself - Why did you choose your undergraduate major - Why MiM - Why Europe - How will you adjust to Europe / France (food, weather, language) - Work Experience-related question - Do you have any questions for us It went alright I believe. There was hardly any focus on the "why HEC" kind of specific questions which was surprising to me. You will also be first meeting with a few student ambassadors before you're shifted to your interview breakout room. It was a pleasant experience interacting with them - just seeing and conversing with them helped me calm my nerves!

Had my interview today with an alumni class of 2020. Very similar to the other interview debriefs although she sounded like was in a bit of a rush (it was mid working day for her). Questions: 1. She asked me to quickly introduce myself, to keep it short and focused on something that is not on my resume since she has read it already. 2. Why an MBA? 3. Why Ross? 4. How do you lead without authority and how do you influence peers on the same level as you? 5. Tell me about a time you showed resilience? 6. Short term/long term goals post MBA 7. Open floor to questions. Overall it took about 30 minutes considering the questions I had for her. It was a good experience and direct on point from both sides.

Pretty generic interview process and mostly standard questions. The previous interview debriefs in the forum are really helpful. I won't list all the questions that I had here, since they are very comparable to the questions from previous submissions. Make sure you've done your research on the school & the program, you are clear on your purpose and why you are applying to MBA, and lastly get familiar with your CV (my interviewer asked a lot of experience-based questions). Good Luck

It was pretty basic. The interviewer asked me to walk him through my resume and then had a few follow-up questions. He asked me a question about how I handle conflicts and a question about my biggest achievement so far. Rest were just follow ups to that. Last question was regarding how I would add value to the Anderson Community.

The interview panel consisted of an alumni, a current student and a college rep. They were very friendly and it was a very casual conversation. They wanted to get to know me better and were genuinely trying to get to understand my motivations and ideas. They will also want to see if you are who you claim you are in your essays. The questions mostly dealt with why ESSEC/France(or Singapore) /MiM and a few other questions from my essays. They also asked me what I would do if I had the power to change one thing in the world. Make sure you know what you’ve written in your essays and CV. The last thing you want is to get confused with data about yourself. If you are good enough to get shortlisted, you are good enough to make it past the interviews. Just be true to yourself and be bold. Tell them who you are but don’t try to sell yourself. Have a rough goal- long and short term. They don’t expect you to have a crystal clear plan laid out, but they also won’t want someone clueless. Justify why an MiM at ESSEC with your goals. Have some idea about the current economic and political landscape. My friend who made it to the interview was asked of his opinions on the economic conditions of China. Not sure if anyone else will be asked that too, but better be safe than sorry. Also mention the research you’ve done- in terms of the facilities, alumni you’ve spoken to, the courses you like and the clubs you like. Talk about Chairs too and show them you’re motivated. I think that’s just about it. Good luck to everyone appearing for the interviews and see you at essec!

12:00 pm slot 23/01/22 - (Interview panel - 5) The interview started 15 mins late. I am a civil engineer and I work in a public sector role. I have also started a couple of small business ventures. The interviewing panel were either from my working background or from the industry that I wanted to transition to post-MBA. Panelist 1: First Interviewer (Real Estate Background): Introduce yourself: Panelist 1: Why ST goal? Panelist 1: A lot of grilling on my pre-MBA work experience and the skills that I think would be helpful to transition to my post-MBA role. Panelist 1: “Tell me about a time when you were innovative to help people during the pandemic.” Panelist 2: Second interviewer (Marketing Background): Mostly asked situational questions: Panelist 2: “MBA in general management from ISB/similar business schools or MS in Tech from top universities in US such as Cornell?” Panelist 2: “Alternative short-term career goals.” Panelist 2: “What skills do you have that would help you in your alternative career goal?” Panelist 2: “What is the one question that you were expecting us to ask till now, but we haven’t asked?” (I said Why ISB?) Panelist 2: Ok then, Why ISB? Panelist 2: “How are your experiences with ISB alums different from what you have experienced with alums from other business schools.” (I had mentioned about how helpful and open ISB alums were when I had reached out to them during my research) Panelist 3: Interviewer 3 Panelist 3: A lot of grilling about my past work experiences. Panelist 3: “What would happen to your free lance business when you join MBA?” Panelist 3: “What moral obligation do you feel towards your employees if you stop your work? And a lot more grilling on permutations and combinations if I don't get into an MBA program." Panelist 2: Interviewer 2 stepped in again. This time he asked what is one thing that you could have done differently in the past or one thing that you could change? and a little more grilling. Panelist 2: “This is a situational question and you would not be judged on what you answer for this question. If you could suggest one bad thing about each of us three interviewers, what would it be?” Panelist 2: “If you assess yourself what is the one weakness that you would like to improve in yourself?” (I explained that I am Introvert and I would like to improve my overall improv skills) Panelist 2: The interviewer explained three situations in which introverts find themselves in. He gave me three options: “a. Either you are an introvert and you have accepted it and you have given up on trying to speak to people. b. You want to speak and you have a lot to speak, but you don’t speak out of fear of failure of what others might judge you. c. You don’t have anything interesting to speak. So, you don’t speak. If you had to choose any one of these options that would resemble you, which one would it be? He emphasised that I have to choose one.” Without taking much time.(I answered the second option.) Panelist 2: “Then you say you have fear to speak and in your essays, you speak about being brave. How can these things go together?” (I said that I have been always aware about my fears and I have made conscious decision in life to overcome my fears. And facing your fears is also being brave. I said you can always improve. There is always room for improvement.) Then it was my turn to ask questions. Asked a couple of questions to all panelists. The interview lasted for about 50 minutes. The interview was extremely conversational. All of the panelists made me feel really comfortable. Overall, it was a great experience.

I was interviewed by an AdCom member. He was really friendly to begin with, and put me at ease right at the start of the interview. - I was first asked to introduce myself, which led to a few questions around my work experience as a consultant - most formative professional experience, leadership examples, etc. - I was then asked about my motivation behind an MBA and why an MBA now specifically. - The AdCom also dug deep into my short and long term goals, and how Stern aligns with them. - Towards the end I was asked if I had any questions for the AdCom. The interview lasted for 30~35 minutes and overall had a very conversational, friendly vibe. The school just wants to know the person behind the application and wishes to assess your fit with Stern.

I interviewed with Kari Calvario, it lasted about 30 minutes. She had some technical problems so we started about 10 minutes late but she still gave me 30 minutes. It was a pretty casual conversation, we started with a little chat about the weather and she gave a brief overview of the process. The questions were definitely tailored to my work experience/background. Questions: - In your own words describe your current job - Career goals - why an MBA, what are your post MBA goals - Plan B career goal - Why Tepper? - What lead you to your current job - TMAT when you bridged a knowledge gap at work - TMAT when someone came to you for help due to your expertise/knowledge? - TMAT you had to compromise on a project - Do you have any questions for me?
