ISB R2 Delhi interview debrief: Walk us through your journey so far. Post-MBA goals. Why these post-MBA goals, given that they are very niche? How do you stay updated on SaaS trends(my current industry)? How do you stay informed about the broader business world? Discussion around an article from the periodicals mentioned in my essays. Positions of responsibility held during college. Challenges faced while growing up. Hobbies, including favorite books, authors, and current reads. How education in India can be influenced or improved; followed by a discussion on what China did differently (linked to my post-MBA goals). Most challenging project at work. A project at work that is personally meaningful to you. Why not pursue core chemical engineering and instead move toward B2B tech? A situation where you faced a conflict of interest. Why an MBA? How many people have you led in a project? Why an MBA now, and why not continue on your current career path? Industry-specific questions related to my background. Overall, the interview was conversational, in-depth, and closely aligned with my profile. It lasted approximately 40–45 minutes.

Interview lasted 38 mins, the monologue was about 20 mins with a lot of back and forth with the interviewer, it was definitely more of a conversation rather than straight monologuing. 1. Tell me about yourself (I answered why MBA and post MBA goals in this section, she didn't have to ask) 2. Behavioral question thrown in while I was monologuing, made it really easy to just tell the story she asked about. 3. Why Darden/Charlottesville. 4. Chit chat and questions from me. I got to ask two.

Interview Details: • Date: Jan 15, 2026 • Interviewer: AdCom (Blind interview, had resume only) • Format: Video Call (Microsoft Teams) • Duration: Scheduled for 30 mins, lasted ~40 mins. The Experience: The interview started with a technical glitch (calendar invite missing), but we broke the ice by laughing about technology failing us despite my tech background. The interviewer started off a bit reserved/tired but warmed up significantly once I switched from standard "MBA script" to candid, authentic conversation. Questions Asked: 1. TMAY: Focused on my journey from Enterprise Architect to GovTech Founder. 2. Career Switches: "I see a lot of jumps in your profile; can you explain?" (I was honest: Startups lacked stability, corporates lacked velocity. I’m looking for the balance). 3. Why UTD? Focused on the pragmatic, outcomes-based curriculum and Business Analytics strength. 4. The "Waiver" Question: She asked why I applied without a score and was transparent that lack of a score might impact merit scholarships (mentioned a specific $30k figure). • My rebuttal: I explained my quant readiness via my transcripts (IISc, ISB, IIIT) and confidence in being a top performer in class. 5. Plan B / Other Schools: Asked where else I applied. When I mentioned receiving waivers from schools like NYU Stern and Cornell, the dynamic shifted positively. 6. Personal/Hobby: We discussed the Dallas weather and my background as an ultra-runner. Ended on a lighthearted note where I offered to be her running coach. Key Takeaways for Future Applicants: • Be Candid: I didn't hide my rejections from other schools or my "job hopping." I owned my story. The "Anti-Selling" approach built trust. • Scholarship Reality: If you are a waiver candidate, be prepared for the conversation about limited scholarship availability. Have a confident answer ready about your ROI or savings. • Senior Candidates: As an older applicant (15 years exp), I emphasized that I wanted tools to execute, not just theory. This resonated with UTD's practical culture. Outcome: Told to expect an Alumni Round next, pending committee review.

My Kellogg Interview For me, the entire interview was just a conversation... sure my interviewer asked questions but there was no gotcha question. I’m convinced that they use that interview as a personality test - if you got an interview it means you’re qualified but now they want to see if you’d be a good fit with their culture so I would just be prepared to ask some really thoughtful questions and then depending on their responses follow up with another question.

I had my interview about 2 weeks ago. It is meant to last 30-45 minutes. Mine lasted about 50 because I extended a bit on my answers. It is meant to be very conversational. They intend to open with a walk me through your CV o tell me about yourself. And then the interviewer will ask follow ups and behavioral questions. You will have time to ask the interviewer some questions. So I suggest you have 4-5 questions planned for the interviewer.

Three Interviewers - I guess two prof & 1 Alumini Before I entered they have fully read my SOP and application- I was surprised by their effort Started with General awareness on the city I live in ( No regular tell me abt urself etc) Moved to my profile and Questioned almost everything on my SOP, work, Projects, Goals, hobbies Some sudden stress questions like IIMB social media page, post MBA Goal not fitting etc Lots of cross questioning, Good cop/Bad cop situations often to access emotional maturity. Overall looks like they judge- History of success, how strong are you on goals, vetting genuinity of applications and soft skills like emotional quotient which GMAT or WAT cannot test.

Feedback from today's interview at Blore: It was a stress interview to the extent where if you give an answer which don't match their expectations, they would outrightly laugh or mock you. I was asked the meaning of a Japanese word to give you an idea how random questions were. Just one regulation question, almost all the other questions asked was on my work ex, current affairs and multiple cross questioning based on situational awareness. My interview lasted about 35 mins. I later found out that the lady that was grilling me the most was the head of MBAEx program at IIMC.

My interview happened for 30 mins. 29 minutes felt great (deep technical questions). In the last one minute I was asked to choose between rabindra nath tagore and satyajit ray. I said I can't because both are exemplary in their own field. Interviewer- you have no choice choose any one. I went with tagore. Interviewer asked to sing a rabindra sangit or tagore poem. I politely said I can't coz my bengali speaking/singing proficiency is bad. Interviewer said we won't mind go ahead and sing.
