It was an interactive session- conducted by 2 people- one from the adcom and the other a professor. It lasted for about 40 mins. *Tell us about yourself? * Why did you leave your earlier job? Detailed questioning on my current job- * Why change in industry? * Business model of current employer? * Challenges faced? Lessons learnt? * Future prospects? * Plans if I did not get into MBA? In this discussion, at one point they told me about the Chinese system of 'guanxi' and how things seemed pretty similar in India. Then, we got into some China and CEIBS related questions. * Why China? Why do you want to leave India? * Which other colleges have you applied? Why CEIBS and not them? * Plan B if you get into CEIBS but don't get a job in China? * Job in China- which sectors are you targeting?- A bit of research on the alumni on LinkedIn was of great help! * My long term plans- whether I wanted to return to India? Then, I had a conversation with them in Mandarin. The questions - * Where did you learn Mandarin in India? * What do you find hardest in the language? Then we moved onto some things that interested them in my essay- we had a long conversation about sport and discussed- * Why India as well as China were not doing well in football despite having huge populations and lots of money! * How could both these nations improve? During the course of our discussion, they told me a joke about how one can become a millionaire in China- start as a billionaire and buy a football club, and see your money evaporate in front of your eyes! * What can you do for sport at your level? *Finally, any question about CEIBS? I had some! So, we had a nice discussion on this. After this, they gave me a bit of career advice and also gave me names of alumni who I could connect with!

My interview was taken by Sanjay Behal. Following were the questions asked: 1- What are you most excited about at Sauder and why MBA? 2- Why Sauder? 3- Short term goals? 4- Long term goals? 5- How MBA and short term goals would help you in reaching to your long term goals? (Many cross questions were asked) 6- Tell me about a time you had a conflict with your manager? How did you handle it? 7- What misconception your co-workers would have about you? 8- What other schools have you applied to? What would be your first choice? The interview lasted for 23min. His ending comments very positive. I was surprised to get the denial. Fate I guess! Good luck to everyone.

This interview was 100% not relaxing haha. I did it in China, and basically, it was very free-flow. The AO knew all of my details and was willing to challenge me on almost everything and basically did. I finished the interview, thinking I had bombed all my chances for Stern. My advice---know yourself, know the school and curriculum very well, be ready for tough questions.

Hello everyone. The school took 4 weeks to process the application and revert with an interview call. Interview was with Ms Sophie Carey who is the Admissions Director (if i'm not wrong). It was over Skype and mostly a informal conversation. Questions: 1. Why MBA and why now? 2. Tell me about your work ex and your responsibilites? 3. How will an MBA help you and what are your goals? 4. Discussion regarding post MBA plans and how realistic they are. 5. How will you fund the MBA? 6. Any questions from your end. General advise: Be confident and be very clear about your future goals. Emphasize on your transferable skills and how the school can build business skills to achieve your goal. Decision was informed to me in 10 days over a call! All the best.

Had an in-person interview and met with two committee members. 1. Walk me through your resume 2. Tell us about a time you had to network 3. Tell us about a time you failed and what did you learn 4. Why Zicklin These are just a couple of questions. Also be sure to get familiar with the electives offered and the ones you would like to take. They asked me alot of questions about how I would network and about my career path.

The interview was very much like the job interviews that I have had. The adcom was very friendly and just wanted to get to know me better. The questions were along the lines of "Tell me about yourself?" "Expectations from the program?" "Long term/Short term goals?" and a few questions about things from my resume. The interview which was very conversational touched upon things already mentioned in my application but gave me the opportunity to explain them in greater detail since I wasn't constrained by the word limitations. Hope it helps!!

I interviewed with Eddie, who was very friendly and definitely put me at ease right off the bat. He asked how I was doing etc etc before getting into the actual interview. Questions he asked me: – Take me through your resumé, specifically your post-undergraduate work history – I currently work with a family member, so he asked if there were specific professional challenges working with family – Long and short-term goals – Why Johnson? (I spoke about both faculty and extracurricular stuff I’m excited about and that aligns with my goals) – What is your leadership style? – Describe a difficult situation you had to deal with at work, and how you tackled it – If I had to ask a direct supervisor or a colleague about you, what are 3 things he/she would say to describe you? – Is there anything you would like me to communicate to the AdCom? On the whole, it was not SUPER conversational, there was a structure to the interview but certainly much more positive and relaxed than a couple of others I’ve done.

Had my interview with Eddie Asbie who was quite supportive and was really great to talk with. The interview was conversational and revolved around my goals, experience and leadership potential. It went on for about 30 mins, which included 5 mins of my questions to him. Questions: 1. tell me about your current work and educational background. why you chose this path? 2. what do you love about your work? 3. what motivates you in life? 4. why consulting? why MBA? why Johnson? 5. what's your leadership style? If you were to lead a team of say 4- 5 professionals how would you work with them to achieve a goal in 24 hours, given that they are not that convinced to do it. 6. what do you do for fun? 7. how would your direct supervisor describe you? 8. what excites you about doing an MBA? what do you see as a challenge? 9. plan B (if consulting doesn't work). 10. which student organizations would you like to be a part of? questions for the adcom: 1. What factors should I prepare myself for as an international applicant? 2. Any recent developments that I should be aware of

My interview was in Hyderabad campus 10 am slot (first slot of the day). 2 members in panel - relatively very young - might be alums. A bit about me - B. Tech - Mechanical, working in L&T Construction in design department for 5 years (will be 69 months by Mar'20) 1) Tell me about your yourself 2) You have mentioned lot of extra curricular achievements in college, tell us your significant achievements in college....bit of cross questioning and inquired further details (general) about my final year project (I informed about final yr project in significant achievements). 3) Then lot of discussion around my profile - typical day in office, achievements, how my projects run, project value, tenure, etc. 4) Why MBA? Career goals? 5) Discussed a lot about Industry 4.0 (I mentioned it in my career plans) with cross questioning. 6) Will u join back in L&T (take sabbatical)? How will u fit back there? 7) If not sabbatical, what is your target industry and target companies? (specifically asked to name few) 8) Tell us something about you which is not available in your application 9) Apart from work, Did you do any courses for your personal development? Overall, the interview was very casual and more like a chilled out discussion for about 30 min. They let me finish whatever I wanted to say. Started a bit nervously but became very relaxed as they were giving positive acknowledgement and were very friendly. Had very good feeling immediately after interview.

My Interview was with the Executive Director - Career Center and a second year student. In the beginning itself my interviewers made me comfortable and said this would just be a conversation to know you better and we wouldn't be throwing any trick questions at you. They were really polite. The questions were: 1. Walk us through your resume - some follow-up questions about current work 2. Why MBA & why Scheller? 3. What do you expect to get from the MBA experience/ things you want to improve in yourself through an MBA? 4. A situation where you had to deal with a difficult team member? 5. How do you deal with situations in which someone does not agree with you? 6. What would your co-workers and you boss say about you? 7. How would you contribute to the Scheller community? 8. Any surprising situation you encountered during a particular trek? (I had mentioned that as an activity of interest in my resume) 9. Any questions you have for us? It lasted for about 40 minutes. I think they appreciate the research you've done about the school, curriculum, etc. They want people who can get along well within a group and are willing to learn from as well contribute to the team/class. All the best :)

(basically, some failure which I overcame) 4. Short term goals. Long term thoughts. 5. Why Mccombs? 6. The biggest takeaway from my application cycle? 7. How McCombs fit the bill? 8. Timeline: 1. Applied by ED deadline but put a hold on my application in anticipation of a higher GMAT score. 2. Received an invitation to interview 6 days after submitting my updated score. 3. Interviewed 12 days after invitation to interview. 4. Interview feedback submitted by interviewer 4 days after interview. 5. Received acceptance call 1 week after interview feedback submitted. Match: My first match was a recent grad that works in consulting and had been recently placed far away so I requested a new match and was paired with a very impressive grad from '95. The interview: My interviewer works in risk management and I work in biotech, so I was nervous about the interview. I met him at his work a few minutes early and he took me to a small conference room. He started by explaining the interview process, which was nice. Questions he asked me: 1. Why MBA and not a PhD? (Very expected given my background) 2. Why Columbia? 3. What do I plan to do after Columbia? 3a. Who is the biggest player in this space? 4. What's my leadership style? 5. What's my plan B? 6. What questions haven't I asked you? His final question really caught me off guard! I had plenty of questions for him, but not questions for myself. I rushed into the interview because I felt behind in the process between the delayed GMAT submission and my first match falling through. I ended up doing fine with this question - I turned it to culture fit - but I was at a loss at first. Questions I asked him: I explained my background was very technical in the sciences and asked him what risk management was. I of course had researched risk management and knew the exact amount of risk that was in his portfolio, so I was able to chime in with more educated comments/questions as he explained the basics. The conversation then transitioned to world politics, which was more comfortable for me. We also talked about his daughter, who graduated with the same major as I did and works in a similar industry. I think this was a very lucky connection that helped us understand each other better. I ended by asking him for any advice and was really happy to hear his response. General notes/advice: My interviewer seemed pleased with my honesty - it seems he was used to people playing the interview game a bit too hard. Perhaps it was easy for me to be honest because CBS was my top school and I had really thought about everything before applying. I recommend making a list of all possible questions you think you might be asked and even questions you wish to be asked. I sent him an email thanking him later that day and he has forwarded me events at CBS that he thinks would interest me. He also sent a congratulatory email after I was accepted (I suppose they are notified by the school), and I expect to keep in touch with him moving forward.

"I was interviewed with Adcom on Skype. It was pretty straightforward and no surprising questions were asked. Interview lasted for 40 Mins including 10 Mins he answering my questions. Questions that were asked (not sure of order though): 1. Tell me about yourself. 2. Why MBA? 3. My Leadership Style 4. How do you work in team when you have 24 hrs to arrive at the solution to the problem? 5. Why Cornell? 6. Anything else that I would like to communicate to Admission Committee. 7. Clubs that I would like to be a part of. I asked three questions at the end which he answered genuinely. I felt that they wanted to check fit to the program and candidate's genuine interest to be in small place i.e. Ithaca. Now waiting for final decision. I hope this would be helpful. Best Luck to all applicants."

I was interviewed at Delhi on 20th Oct. 2019. There were 2 alumni taking the interview. 1. They started with usual 'Tell me about yourself in 4-5 mins' routine. Which I did. 2. Then they asked about one of the achievements that I had mentioned in my CV. 3. Then why MBA, why ISB? 4. Why not executive MBA? (I have 10+ yrs of work-ex, so I expected this question) 5. Then really extensive on global current affairs (What is Iran crisis, who is Greta Thunberg, what's her protest all about etc.) 6. Lot of back and forth on the same, (I was a bit tentative in my answers on these current affairs questions, so may be to put me in the spot) 7. Then a question about hobbies, I mentioned reading, then they asked which was the last book I had read and what was it about, then they suggested other books which offered contrary opinions to the book I had mentioned. 7. Then a couple of hypothetical situation based questions related to my career goals and further cross questioning on the same. Basically ethical dilemma questions. 8. Finally, If you have any question for us. It was interactive only, but they drilled really deep into the answers that I had. Result: Wait listed.

- Yale Executive MBA Interview - I was interviewed last week. It was pretty straight forward. There was a half hour interview with a member of the admissions team, a half hour interview with an alumn, and an hour group discussion with the dean, an alumn, and about 10 prospective student. The interview with the admissions person was very lair back and mostly about work history and what brought you to seeking an emba, why Yale. The interview with the alumn was very conversational and focused on what you can bring to Yale. The group discussion was just that. All prospective students are handed a news article to read and then the article was discussed at length. After these various segments prospective students had lunch with current students in each prospective area of focus: susustainablity, healthcare, and asset management. After lunch prospective students were able to attend a class in their area of focus. The entire day was pretty laid back and a very friendly and supportive atmosphere. Best of luck all.
