Hi everyone, I recently interviewed with an admissions director from Simon. Here are some insights from the interview which I hope can be found helpful! All the best to all prospective applicants! Overall, the interview is best described as a friendly conversation. The tone was very calm and relaxed and the interviewer does not give you any reason to feel under pressure. They are genuinely trying to get to know you better. I very much enjoyed sharing my story, gaining deeper insight about Simon and learning more about my interviewer. Questions: 1. Please tell me about yourself (give a brief introduction of who you are and a walk through of your resume) 2. Tell me about your undergraduate experience, what did you study and what were you involved in during school? 3. How well do you manage time? 4. What are you post-MBA goals and why are you pursuing an MBA now? 5. What are some target companies you aspire to work in? 6. What is one thing that you have achieved recently that you are proud of? 7. Why Simon? 8. Can you please describe a time when you worked in a team? 9. Please describe how you would mitigate conflict in a team setting? 10. How will you contribute to Simon? Overall the interview lasted ~50 minutes. Advice: Know your story, resume and reasons for MBA well. Prepare some anecdotes as support. Study up on the program and try to speak with some students beforehand to get a better idea of the school culture. Dress professionally and arrive a few minutes early.

There were none of the usual questions which was surprising. The interviewer mentioned they wanted to use the interview to know me on a personal level. The interview lasted about 35 mins. Some of the questions i remember were 1. Tell me a business book you enjoyed reading. Did you use what you learnt in your current job? 2. in the next 5 years what are the areas you hope to grow in (professional and personal) 3. A culture conflict that came up from working in a diverse team 4. What other schools i'm applying and based on my research why i think Judge is a better fit for me 5. (In my application i had a professional challenge question that i answered in a way that it ended in a success) he wanted me to talk about a challenge that hasn't been resolved yet. 6. Any questions i had for the interviewer.

Online with a second year student - Tell me about yourself - Tell me about your current role - What do you think has been your greatest accomplishment - Tell me about the time you made a mistake (follow-up - What is your though process during these kind of situations) - How do you think this has influenced your leadership style (follow-up question after the above question) - ST/LT goals and Why MBA - Assuming you are at Tuck, how will you engage at campus - What would be your legacy at Tuck after graduating - Anything else which we have not touched upon yet that you would like to discuss. - Any questions for me? Interview went on for 20-25 minutes. After that, I asked a few questions which went on for another 5-10 minutes. Overall, it was very friendly and conversational. I think it well. And I wish best luck to everyone else. Hope this debrief is helpful. Let me know in case you have any other questions related to the process.

Interviewed on a Sunday morning with an alumnus from the class of 2017. She was in consulting pre-MBA, and is now in finance. She was located in the US both before and after her MBA. She told me a little about herself, and then asked the usual questions such as: Why an MBA now? Why HEC? In particular, she seemed impressed that I managed to confidently answer her question about why I was choosing HEC over INSEAD. She commented that I seemed to have done my research well. I then presented my presentation. As my target post-MBA industry was consulting, and having been a consultant herself, she commented that my slides needed to be more comprehensive (as slides are very important in consulting). I took this as a slightly negative sign, but the rest of the interview went fine otherwise. She proceeded to tell me about the campus life as well, and was happy to answer any questions I had. She was quite a reserved person so I couldn't tell how well it had gone overall but since I have been admitted, I assume it went well!

Skype interview with a 2nd year MBA. 1. Tell me about yourself, how you came up with the idea of MBA, why do you want to go to Ross 2. ST/LT goals 3. Plan B if your career goals do not work out 4. Where do you want to be based after MBA? 5. How do you think you will contribute to Ross? I think I mentioned too many things here, and the interviewer was taking a lot of notes 6. A time when your company/project was going through a change and how you contributed 7. A time when you received a tough feedback, why do you think it was tough 8. A time you made a decision that you regretted and why 9. Tell me about your transition from the local university to your college in London 10. What other things apart from formal activities related to your career goals you want to do at Ross, for fun? 11. Any questions for the interviewer The interview lasted for over an hour instead of instructed/planned 45 mins, I didn’t notice that. There were a lot of follow-up questions for almost every question above. Overall, I think this interview was deeper in context and fun. I recognized the interviewer because he was at one of the career path (either tech or consulting) webinars organized by Ross Admissions, so I knew his unique story and brought it up to start the interview, he was pleased to hear. So, my advice - try to attend as many events as possible, if online then try to attend all of them, most of the time they are useful. Good luck!

My interviewer was an alumna working for FB in Singapore, Class of 2005. We had trouble with the audio and, eventually, I suggested to use WhatsApp for audio. Hence, we started 10 mins late. We had a chat about me first, why MBA, why Haas, a few follow up questions, and then she read the questions the Adcom prepared for her. There was nothing that caught me in surprise, I'd say regular MBA and regular Haas questions, however, I think I spoke too much, sometimes my answers weren't as concise as I'd wish them to be. But the passion for Haas came through I think. Below are the questions that were asked: 1. Tell me about yourself 2. Why MBA? 3. Why Haas? 4. Tell me about your weaknesses? How did you improve or plan to improve? 5. How you have promoted diversity at work or elsewhere? 6. Can you tell me about the challenging story at work? How did you deal with that and what you learned? 7. Which defining principle do you most embody? 8. When did you start learning English? 9. Advice on how to teach English to a colleague (She brought up a story about her Japanese colleague who's been struggling with English) 10. Questions for the interviewer. I think questions 8-9 were off the record, I think she was just curious, at least I felt that way. There were a few follow-up questions to some of the behavioral questions. I was surprised when she said, "The school sent me some questions, I'm just going to read them", and she literally did. Those were long narratives followed by some simple questions like the questions 4 and 7. In the end, she just said: "Let me know if you get accepted". I felt I could have done better but I got in eventually.

Skype interview with a 2nd year MBA student. 1. Walk me through your resume. 2. Why MBA? 3. Why edtech? 4. Why Tuck? 5. How will you contribute to Tuck? 6. Tell me the most challenge you think you will face at Tuck. 7. Tell me about a time when you have taken an initiative at work. 8. Tell me about a time when you helped someone without them asking for it. 9. Tell me about a time when you received constructive feedback and how you reacted. 10. Tell me about a time when you had to deliver tough news to someone. 11. What has been your greatest accomplishment? 12. What was the dish you cooked the last time? 13. Do you have anything else you would like me to communicate to the adcom? 14. Any questions for me? The interview was friendly, the interviewer was nice, shared her experience a bit at the beginning and then the questions followed for 30-35 minutes. I answered every question using the examples I had prepared except the questions like "tell me about a time when you had to deliver difficult news to someone" or "the last time you've cooked something new." Overall, I kept speaking flawlessly, didn't really stop to gather thoughts or something, the ideas were just flowing in smoothly. And I smiled a lot, probably too much (but I joked about that and said that I was just excited).

The interviewer was very nice and made you comfortable. She introduced herself first and then started asking questions. The questions mentioned below are paraphrased based on what I remember. The interview lasted about 40-45 minutes. Tell me about yourself and your experience so far. What do you think is holding you back from achieving your current post MBA goal? What steps would you take to fill that gap? X is a very competitive domain with many eligible candidates applying for a job. What sets you apart? What would be the biggest challenge for you during the program? What has been the most rewarding experience in your current job? If your supervisor left suddenly, what strategic changes would you make? What kind of leader are you? Tell me about a time where you had to solve a conflict within your team. What qualities do you think your cohort should have? How would you engage with the alumni network? What do you think has been the most important innovation in the past 10 years? What is a recent business topic that you have been following? How do you stay updated on the current events? Any questions for me?

On campus interview with a second year student. 1. Quick introductions and then a chronological resume walkthrough. 2. Short-term goals and what made you want to pursue this route? 3. Why MBA? 4. Why Tuck? 5. Tell me about a moment where you had adversity with a coworker or subordinate? 6. Tell me about a moment where you had adversity with a boss? 6A. More detail on the story. 7. What would your coworkers or boss give you as feedback for strengths and weaknesses? 8. What traits make you a good contribution to the future class? 9. When you are graduating and walking across the stage what do you want to be going through people's minds about you? 10. Any questions I didn't ask but you want to answer? 11. What questions do you have for me? Overall the interview was very conversational. Each of the questions flowed into each other and my interviewer also gave me anecdotes of how my experiences were similar to a recent lesson he had learned in the program. The total length of the interview was about 50 minutes.

Just finished with my interview. The interview was conducted through Zoom call and lasted about 40 mins. Following questions were asked. 1. In your current position what are your responsibilities? 2. Why MBA? 3. What would be your contribution to the class? 3. Regarding post MBA goals- what research have you done? 4. What is your plan B? 5. How did you prepare for GMAT? 6. If any of your classmates with whom you are collaborating not putting the effort to finish the task how would you handle the situation? 7. If tomorrow you are asked to replace your supervisor what changes you will make in 1st 100 days? 8. What current business topic you are following right now? At the end asked whether I have any questions to ask? Overall the interview was smooth. No hard ball question. I was interviewed by a Senior Programme Manager and she was nice. Hope this help. Online interview with a second year student: 1. Take through resume 2. Short-term and long term | lot of probing in short-term 3. Why MBA 4. Why Tuck 5. What legacy will you leave at Tuck/how would you want your friends at Tuck remember you 6. A time when you had to mentor someone 7. A time at work when you received constructive feedback and your response 8. Questions I asked: Comparison with previous university and why rural place as they lived entirely in megacities 9. Any interesting career shift example 10. Short-term and long-term Finished in 20 minutes and I didn't go into rabbit holes. Then chatted for 25 more minutes about random stuff. Hi Guys, First, I want to point out that my interview was conducted during a preview day, so it was slightly different in that we had been invited to the preview day and the interview was only a small part of it. In fact, one of the people that was also invited stated they didn't realize there would be an interview and didn't feel prepared and the ad com board told them that it would be fine because it was more of a conversational interview. This turned out to be very much true, although it was still an interview with behavioral questions. I had two interviews, one with the ad com and one with the office of career management. The ad com interview was pretty standard. - Take me through your resume - What sort of leadership experience do you have - Talk about a team experience you have - Talk about a time you dealt with someone who was different from you at work - Talk about a time you failed at something - Why Fisher - How do you want to get involved The interview with the office of career management was a lot of the same, but more focused on my career goals with questions like: - What are your short and long term goals - How are you going to make sure you achieve those goals - What classes and clubs are you interested in - What other programs are you looking at Both interviewers were extremely nice and like I said, it was like have a conversation but just with pointed questions.

It was longer than an hour. Was conversational and the interviewer had a understanding and supportive attitude. I could feel him taking interest in what i have to say, instead of just trying to evaluate me. 1) Things about your professional background that make you a fit for your choice of specialization. 2) 5 words to describe yourself and explain why 3) What would your teammates and peers tell about your leadership style 4) How do you connect with people, your style of making relationships. 5) One piece of constructive criticism you got and worked on it. 6) If you had 2-3 wishes, what sills would you want to gain by using them. 7) What will you contribute to the class 8) What do you want to gain from your classmates 9) Why MBA and why Wisconsin

nterview 1 : Recent ex alum working at Amazon. I started off with my presentation. After that she asked a few questions on the presentation and gave me a little feedback on the length and my slide content. After that there were questions on Why HEC (lots of counter questions here on why not other schools), post MBA career choice and how I will achieve it. The interviewer grilled me on my experiences working internationally. After that I asked a few questions. Mostly the interview was very conversational. The second interview was pretty much the same. The only difference was the interviewer was really interested in how I would finance the MBA, where I wanted to work afterwards and what salary I was expecting.

Hi Guys, The interview took place in the ad com's office in the Global Hub and was very relaxed. We talked about the football game happening that night first to kinda break the ice and then got into it. I started off going through my resume but before I even finished talking about it they started asking questions about my leadership experience and teamwork experience. Then came the Why Kellogg question, which I knew was probably the most important so I spent a lot of time talking about that. There were a couple more questions after that and I linked Kellogg back into my answers on those and the interviewer seemed to really like that. After that I asked a few questions and then it was over.

Experience: Don't get hyper reading the debrief below. The overall interview was very conversational and I didn't even realize when 50 mins past by. Just make sure to know your story well (resume specifically) and you should sail through easily. Booth Interview by a current Student ⁃ Tell me something which is not there on the resume ⁃ Walk me through your professional experience ⁃ Why do you want to do an MBA now and why not two-three years down the line ⁃ ST and LT goal ⁃ Questions on leading a team -> how do you manage leading a big team of {#} people -> how do you make the offshore employees keep motivated considering the cultural and time difference ⁃ Ever had a difference of opinion with the team members and how did you handle it ? ⁃ Favorite means of communication at work ⁃ How will you contribute to the class ⁃ One of the volunteering efforts I had mentioned in my resume was something atypical. She had put a star mark on it and asked me to detail that. This opened up as a good story conversation ⁃ How do I plan to commute to Chicago and if my family is okay with doing this (getting away every weekend) ⁃ Weaknesses that I want to cover while at Booth ⁃ Open questions for her (I had only prepared one question and other one I made up while waiting for the interview) Takeaway - should have prepared a little more questions for her ⁃ In the last I asked about a famous Professor Raghu Rajan and that I’m looking forward for his class as he had been the Governor Of Reserve Bank of India. The interviewer liked this info and added this to her sheet that I wanted to attend this particular class. I think it was a good stint and kind of covered my lack of questions for her. The interviewer was making notes for every answer I was giving. I couldn’t read the gibberish but I guess it was the key points like my ST goals, volunteering efforts, Professors I’m interested in etc.

The interview took place in the Alum's office and he was extremely friendly. Questions: 1) Walk me through your resume 2) Why MBA 3) Why Kellogg 4) Goals 5) How will you differentiate yourself at Kellogg 6) A few specific questions about a previous job I held 7) Tell me about a time when you led a team 8) How will you contribute at Kellogg 9) Which other schools have you applied to For the Why Kellogg question, I happened to mention about how I had reached out to a certain club's president and the interviewer asked me to mention her name and took a note of it.

Hey guys, Interviewed on campus today at Kellogg, and thought I'd share my experience with you guys. My interview was with two people: Adcom member + student. I think the student was currently in training, as he was leading the interview while the adcom member was pitching in when required. Some of the questions (Not sure of the flow): Walk me through your resume? What exactly are your responsibilities in your current role? Can you explain a little more about the project X? (from resume) What do you like most about your work at Firm X? Goals? Why MBA? Why Kellogg? What is the one thing you think you’ll bring to the Kellogg classroom? What are the three adjectives your friend would use to describe you? Experience you worked with diverse people? What do you think will be your biggest challenge at Kellogg? How does your side venture function without you there? Anything you wished we asked? Any questions? Comments: I was a little taken aback as the flow of the interview seemed to jump between different sections: Resume -> specific firm -> S/T goals -> behavioral question -> Why MBA etc. It might also be because it was a student in training leading the interview, but just a heads up. I was also not expecting the question on "biggest challenge at Kellogg" Overall the interview was pretty conversational, and they cracked a smile a couple of times so that made me feel a little positive. Fingers crossed now! Good luck to everyone still in the application process.

The interviewer could not see me and assumed that I was late to the interview. I had to clarify that I was around and the technical problems were keeping her from seeing me. So she called me on phone. That was very nice. This is one of the best interviews I had for my admissions and it was very conversational. While she did seem to have a list of questions she wanted to ask me, she really let the questions flow from my answers. We had about a 30-35 minute interaction. Here are some of the questions 1. How did you come to work for your current company? 2. Why are you doing an MBA? 3. What are your post MBA goals, connect the dots for me. 4. What is your plan B. Why? 5. Your designation doesn't seem to have changed. what do you do in your role, how has it grown over time? 6. TW you experienced a knowledge gap at work, when you did know enough to get work done and how did you handle it? 7. TW you were a resource for the company 8. TW you experienced a cultural shock. How did you deal with it. 9. TW you failed and what did you learn from it. 10. TW you had to compromise for the team's success. 11. What are your hobbies outside of work. 12. Any questions for me. She usually summarized my answers or added her insights on top of my answer which made me feel comfortable that she understood what I was saying.
