I gave my interview on Wednesday, it was pretty conversational and I think it went well. Anxiously waiting for the outcome. Here are the questions that were asked:
- Tell me about yourself
- Why MBA? Why Scheller?
- TMAT you lead a project
- TMAT you worked with an international team
- TMAT which made you really proud
- How would you contribute to the Scheller Community?
- What do you know about the Visa Challenges and how do you aim to address those?
- Any questions for me?
We had a very engaging conversation and t it was very pleasant talking to Catie (my interviewer). Wishing everyone the best of luck!

Just finished my interview. A bit different than other schools - for sure.
Don’t be like me, where I didn’t see the requirement that an ID was required. So I had to remove my background effect (needless to say, a messy room).
It was a 2nd year student and had questions regarding GPA, GMAT, Quant proficiency, etc...

R1 applicant here, just completed my interview with a second year student at early November.
Very friendly and conversational, but also deep dive into your personal thoughts.
Would suggest expecting:
1. a slightly longer interview (40-60 mins), so better have a great sleep the day before
2. more school specific questions (e.g. DQ, Team Fuqua, DEI ...)
3. a very kind interviewer, so enjoy!

1) Start talking about yourself (no time limit was mentioned)
--- During the introduction, I created hooks around getting a team to collaborate and leading multicultural teams and that led to the following questions in between my introduction
2) Can you talk more about the experience (on resolving conflict and getting a team to cooperate)?
3) How did you incorporate diverse perspectives as a leader?
4) You are doing well already so Why MBA, Why Darden?
5) Any questions for me?
Time: 42 mins

R1 applicant, did my interview earlier this week. Expect a decent amount of DQ questions (I got asked time I chose a hard right over an easy wrong), Fuqua questions (what does team Fuqua mean to you) and I personally didn’t get any of the usual questions (why bschool, why now etc). My interviewer didn’t come in with a script, and asked questions based on where the conversation was going. For example, when I mentioned that the general corporate leadership landscape needs change, he asked me about my thoughts on a CEO’s duty etc. Just be ready to back up everything you say because they definitely dig deep!

Met in-person. Arrived a few minutes early, greeted the staff sitting at the reception desk, and waited for my time. Interview started on time with a member of the Adcom. Questions included:
Tell me about yourself & your work history
Teamwork with a challenging teammate
Favorite project
Why Marshall
Goals
My questions. I kept my questions brief and somewhat standard, such as favorite thing about Marshall and what sets Marshall apart from other programs from his perspective.
Overall the tone was very positive and I left with more details about the program than I had from the site or other events.

My interview for the GT Scheller MBA was conducted by Caroline Player, alongside a current second-year student, which added an engaging dynamic to the conversation. While I hadn’t anticipated a student joining, I had heard about this from a former student at a college event.
The interview was relaxed and conversational. Caroline and the student introduced themselves, and after my brief introduction, they asked follow-up questions about my interests, leading to a great discussion where both seemed genuinely interested in getting to know me beyond my resume.
Here’s a list of the questions they asked:
- Why is now the right time for an MBA? Why an MBA, and why Scheller?
- What sort of consulting companies are you targeting? (in relation to my post-MBA goal of pivoting to consulting)
- Tell me about a time when you had to convince someone; what was your approach?
- Tell me about a time you worked in a team.
- What qualities do you look for while working in a team?
- What qualities do you bring while working in a team?
- Tell me about a time when you were proud of leading a group of people.
- What is your leadership style?
- What is a misperception people have about you? (an unexpected question)
- What steps have you taken in the past (at work or in any organization) to help people around you feel respected and included?
- What contributions will you make to your classroom and to the Scheller community?
- Tell me about your experience interacting with teams or clients across the globe. Were any US-based? Where were they primarily located?
- Are you aware of visa challenges down the line, and who will sponsor your visa later on?
- Do you have any questions for us?
I concluded the interview with my own questions, gaining further insights into Scheller’s community and values.
Overall, the interview felt like a genuine conversation, giving me a chance to showcase my experiences, skills, and values. I appreciated the opportunity to highlight how I plan to contribute to the Scheller community and my readiness for the MBA journey.

- A leader you admire

My Interview was pretty standard. They asked all the usual questions: "Why MBA, Why now, Why Cambridge, Future career plans," etc. It kicked off with those, followed by a couple of follow-up questions about the impact of the projects I mentioned. There was also a question about the companies I listed in my essays and the types of products they work on.
The whole thing lasted around 15 minutes, with another 5 minutes for Q&A from my side.
Regarding the interview invites, for Round 1, they were all sent out exactly 3 weeks after the application submission deadline.
Also, is there a chat group for this year’s admits?
I’m hoping to connect with someone who can guide me through the next steps, especially with completing the "financial evidence" section of the portal.

Mine was with an alum as well. They choose someone who either belongs to your current industry or someone who is working in the industry you aspire to join. It went on for 1-1.5 hours. He was very well aware of what I had mentioned in the application and what I had spoken about in the video assessment as well. He just wanted to understand my experiences better and generally who I am as a person.
Questions:
1. Pivotal moments in my life?
2. Tell me what’s not on your resume
3. Why MBA?
4. STG
5. What do you do outside of work/ What do you read about ?
6. How do you feel about your GMAT experience?
7. Alternate short term goal
8. He was interested to know about a challenge I might have come across specifically in one of the projects I had mentioned in my resume
He really appreciated how much I knew about IESE and that I had spoken to multiple people before applying. I had a few questions and we spent 15-20 min on discussing his experiences and how those also resonated with mine.

Mine was quite conversational. Went on for about 1-1.25 hr, but didn’t feel like it. The alum was genuinely trying to understand specifics about my experiences. Had reviewed the application and was familiar with what I was saying.
Few questions-
1. TMAY
2. What does Diversity mean to you?
3. STG/LTG
4. Why IESE/ Why MBA
5. Have I considered Executive MBA?
6. Backup plan for recruitment/postMBA plans. How did I planned to go about recruiting?
7. Which other places have I applied to?
8. What kind of courses would I like to take at IESE?
9. One challenging instance in the past - mentioned that personal stories would be welcome/appreciated
10. International experience related question
11. Had I spoken to anyone from IESE before the interview?
I got 30-40 mins more with them after the interview. So, spent it asking my own set of questions. The interviewer was open to answering them and even shared some relevant points/advice.

My interview was 1hr 15min, alot of standard questions, walk me through your resume, what was your biggest challenge, what was your biggest accomplishment. How do you take feedback, whats your leadership style, etc. Some questions about my essays.
I wasnt asked any curveball questions like cats vs dogs, or describe the colour of yellow to someone thats blind. So that was relieving.
Alumni that interviewed me gave some good pieces of advice based off my profile.
Overall it was an enjoyable interview. Good luck!

my interview questions
tell me about your role
why MBA/ Why now/ Why Goizueta
Time you worked on a team and the role you took (leader/follower/etc)
Strengths and a weakness you are working on
Short term and long term career goals
I did not interview with Libby but I have had several conversations with her. She is very nice and easy to talk to. You should already know the answers to these questions. The only one that tripped me up was strengths and weakness. I BS’d that.
