I finished my interview 2 days ago. It was with a second year student. Very conversational and relaxed. Most of the questions were standard ones. I was asked a couple of behavioural questions. Overall, it went really well and lasted for 30 mins (7 questions). You will be given chance to ask questions at the end.

Interview was conducted by a second year student. It was originally slated for 30 minutes, but half way into it, there was a technical issue on the interviewer's end. So, it took about 10 minutes to troubleshoot the issue and resume the interview. But extra time was added to accommodate the previously lost time.
- Tell me about yourself
- What led you to pivot from your academic field of training to your current job function?
- What are your post-MBA goals and why Rice?
- Have you interacted with Rice students? Mention their names.
- If you receive multiple offers, what would be your key considerations in reaching a decision?
- Any specific activities and courses you're eager to partake in at Rice?
- What does diversity mean to you?
- Any questions for me?
She sent me a thank you note after the interview and I responded in appreciation of her thoughtfulness. Good experience overall.

My interviewer was Benjamin Greenfeld. I joined the meeting five minutes prior to start time and saw him waiting for me already. I nearly had a heart attack! So, I apologized for keeping him waiting and he reminded me that I wasn't late (and that instead, he was early). Haha!
- We spent the opening five minutes talking about casual stuff and life in general
- Walk me through your resume starting from post graduation
- Why MBA? Why Marshall?
- What your short and long term goals?
- If the economic conditions change, what are your alternative short and long term goals?
- Do you have geographic preferences for where you would like to work post MBA?
- Do you have any specific employers in mind?
- How will you contribute to Marshall?
- Based on experience, what are your top 3 traits in a leader?
- General questions
He appreciated my decision to schedule my interview early and added that I might likely receive an early decision as well (late November / early December).

Interviewer was really cool and cheerful. She started by explaining the interview format and letting me know that she would be taking notes while I spoke.
- Tell me about yourself
- Why did you decide to go for an MBA?
- Did you interact with any member of the Haas community? Why Haas?
- What are your short and long term goals?
- Tell me about how you've promoted diversity?
- What do you like to do outside of work?
- What's your favourite book and why? (She mention that this was her own original question)
Then I asked her a couple of questions about specific courses which I heard students balloted for (she was genuinely surprised that I knew about it, so she happily gave her opinion). I also asked general questions on student life and her own current job.

I had my interview with Katherine Alford.
The first 10-15 minutes were dedicated to the classic “tell me about yourself.” Here, I spoke about my family, my undergraduate studies, and my career background.
After that, she asked me a few questions, including:
Why an MBA, why now, and why Darden?
Tell me about a challenging situation at work and how you overcame it.
Did you encounter difficulties or problems working with people from different backgrounds? What did you learn from that experience?
Lastly, she asked if there was anything we may have missed or anything I wanted to add. Here, I talked about the clubs, initiatives, and activities I’m interested in and asked the questions I had for her.
Best of luck!

Had my interview with a second year student , I am an reapplicant with a GMAT waiver, 5 years experience. The interviewer told in the beginning about the format, 20 minutes for the interview and the last ten minutes for the questions that i have for her,
Questions:
Tell me about yourself ( Specifically asked to complete in 5-10 min)
Tell me about a time when you had worked with people from different backgrounds
Tell me about an experience you have on global scale
Why MBA and why darden?
Finally any questions i have for her?
I dont think she has any list of questions that she came up with for the interview. And be prepared to take interviews in short notice most probably within a week as darden is releasing slots only a week at a time compared to last years wherein we had the opportunity to select slots available for the entire round cycle.

You'll do great ! Good luck! Darden's adcom team is super friendly
My interview was very straightforward with no tricky questions:
- 5-10mins tell me about yourself/walk me through your resume
- why MBA? This is really a goals question so if they ask this, it's good to preface the 'why' by restating your goals
- ST & LT Goals may be asked seperately if you dont answer it
- Why Darden? Be sure to articulate well here and also talk about what you can bring to the community in your answer
- Tell me a time you had a challenging situation at work
- What do you like to do for fun
- Tell me about a time you worked with someone different than you
For the Tell me about a time questions, definitely follow STAR method but instead of ending with just results, try mentioning any soft skills/results achieved and how you've carried them into some other work/project/personal life but do it in an organic way. For e.g.
"TMAT you worked with someone different than you" The result could be: " we ended up achieveing 10% improvement in that project, BUT more importantly, I learned that working with someone different than me creates a learning opportunity (or some other specific trait you learned)
All the best!

I've finished my interview with Darden and am waiting to hear back on their decision (Oct. 16th).
Interview was straightforward and was not structured really at all. I met with an adcom director and a student interviewer who was in training. They were really nice! Although it's unstructured be sure you have a list of points you want to get across about yourself. You have to proactively "plug" yourself because they will not really ask too many probing questions unless the conversation gets stale.
Good luck!

It was an adcom member, one of the 2nd year student was also sitting in as an observer. The interviewer had access to my application and resume.
1. Walk me through your resume
2. Why MBA
3. Why Johnson
4. About Ithaca
5. Short term/long term goals.
6. Plan b for short term goals
7. Clubs that you would like to join

The order was a bit different. But overall conversational and good. They do check for photo id, so keep your passport handy.
I was told that the decision would be out in 2-3 weeks latest by dec 6.

Hi There,
I'm done.
Quick Brief;
The interviewer told me not to think she isn't paying attention if I see her looking elsewhere; it's because she's taking notes.
Please note it isn't a blind interview as well.
Questions Asked:
- Introduce yourself and give context to your resume and how you got to this point you're at now
- Why now
- What is your leadership style
- Where do you want to work post-MBA
- Have you marked out how you're going to achieve this?
- Would you like to live in Ithaca?
- In what city do you intend to live/work post-MBA
- Do you have any questions (s)for me?
That's all, thanked each other. She also mentioned that I would hear back from the school in November.

I was invited for an interview after my application was reviewed and scheduled a Zoom call with an Adcom member.
I checked all the technical details on my end and was ready 10 minutes prior to the scheduled time. Unfortunately, the first 15 minutes were an absolute disaster. We encountered multiple technical difficulties; his voice wasn't coming through. He asked me to connect an external headphone, change my microphone, and even switch laptops. When none of those solutions worked, he realized the issue was likely on his end and used his mobile phone to connect to the meeting. This whole process took nearly 15 minutes of our scheduled time, causing me a lot of agitation and losing my composure, which affected the interview.
Despite the shaky start, I tried my best and responded to several standard questions:
1. Tell me about yourself
2. What is your current job title? Talk about your most significant professional achievement.
3. What according to you are three defining characteristics of a leader?
4. Talk about a time when you had to solve a team conflict.
5. What are your short-term and long-term goals?
6. Which companies are you considering working for after your MBA?
7. What is it about LA that excites you?
8. Why MBA and why Marshall?
He then extended the meeting beyond the scheduled time to answer some questions I had.
In summary, I genuinely believe I would have performed better without the technical issues. I would have much rather preferred the Adcom member to conduct some basic checks on his end before this high-stakes interview.
