Great profile. Top GPA+ Work exp at Google+ international experience make you a very competitive applicant. the past entrepreneurial experience is an added bonus. regarding your goals- I would put some more thought into the viability of starting up immediately after b-school. For many international applicants, this can be a deterrent given the H1B visa issues and loans MBAs need to pay off post-MBA. Also, you will need to make sure that if you are writing about starting a company post MBA, you can still justify the need for an MBA (for most entrepreneurs it makes more sense to start their ventures rather than make investment in an MBA).

Your GMAT and career pivot, both, may prove to be hurdles in your endeavor. Considering that LBS admits ~15% of the class from all of South Asia, you may want to revisit these elements of your candidacy.

Given your experience level, you must also justify why an MBA (rather than an EMBA) is the right next step. Potentially expanding your school list to include more schools (explore) like Duke, UCLA, or Cornell would improve your chances. While Tuck, Haas, Booth, and Ross remain viable options, your competitiveness hinges on strong essays, career clarity, and academic improvements. Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your IB background at PwC is solid and aligns well with your pivot to consulting. Your GPA looks on the lower side. The sports achievements (TT nationals + football) add nice flavor for ECs.

The main challenge will be showing leadership/impact in a short timeframe and demonstrating maturity to handle post-MBA consulting roles. ISB typically prefers 3–5 years of work experience, but they do take strong early-career candidates if the story/trajectory is compelling while NUS tends to be more flexible on work ex. A competitive GMAT/GRE will be critical here to offset the relatively short experience and help you stand out. Overall, you’ve got a good technical/finance foundation and well-rounded profile, but you’ll need to make your “why MBA now” very sharp to convince Adcoms you’re ready this early.

Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have got a solid profile. I see strong academics (BS + MS in Math from Texas A&M, 3.74 GPA), 8 years spanning startup engineering, founding your own AI robotics venture, and research at a major insurance company. Add to that a unique personal story and you’ve got a compelling “Why McCombs” pitch.

The 695 GMAT FE score also looks strong. That said, applying only to McCombs is risky. You should also consider Rice, Fuqua, Ross, UCLA Anderson, Emory Goizueta, and even Kellogg and Sloan if you want to aim higher. These schools are strong in consulting/tech and could give you solid pathways into U.S. strategy and product roles. McCombs is a great fit, but broadening your list will seriously improve your odds.

Given your interest in transitioning from a non-traditional industry into consulting, it’s crucial to articulate your motivation clearly. Why consulting? What transferable skills from your current industry will help you succeed in strategy roles? How do you envision building a bridge between your past experience and future aspirations? These are questions that, when answered thoughtfully, will help differentiate your application.

To make your application stronger and more tailored, I’d love to understand more about your role and impact in your current industry. Have you managed projects, teams, or budgets? Do you have any international exposure or cross-cultural collaboration experience? What are your long-term goals beyond consulting? And lastly, how comfortable are you with quantitative subjects?

Priyanka here from ARINGO. With 5 years of experience, you're in a strong position in terms of work tenure for HEC Paris. However, since you haven’t specified your industry or role, it's hard to assess your fit with consulting as a post-MBA goal. Adcoms will want to see clear alignment between your past experiences, your motivation for an MBA, and how you plan to transition into consulting afterward.

Not planning to take a test makes the application more challenging, as HEC generally recommends the GMAT/GRE unless you qualify for a waiver and have strong academics and professional credentials. If your undergrad academics were average or if your work isn't strongly analytical/quantitative in nature, the absence of a test score could hurt your chances.

2. Do you have international exposure or experience working with global teams, which HEC values highly?
