Hi Tanvi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have a strong early profile for a deferred MBA, especially with your GPA and clear leadership experience. Being the Director of Enactus, leading 150+ people and creating impact for 9,000+ lives, shows real responsibility, initiative, and purpose, this is something that AdComs at top schools value a lot. Your internships at Vogue India, ITC, and a luxury fashion brand add good variety and show exposure to both creative and business roles. Winning 10+ national case competitions with cash prizes also points to solid problem-solving and communication skills.

To predict your chances more clearly, I would like to know a few more things: your college and major, when you plan to take the GMAT/GRE, your long-term career goals, and any work or projects beyond internships. Deferred programs care less about full-time work and more about potential, clarity, and direction, so sharpening your goals and test plan will really help.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

I come from a formidable data and analytics background with a work ex of 4 years in a global healthcare and life sciences company, I currently work as an associate Product Owner. With 3 promotions, several off-cycle hikes, in addition to the regular cycles, multiple internal and external awards, and most importantly impactful work, my work ex is solid. I have a bachelor of engineering degree from a Tier 2 college in India but have a very good extracurriculars background by leading a couple of college clubs for multiple years and creating a lot of impact to the students and the society.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have a strong, well-rounded profile for ISB, especially given your clear academic excellence, professional experience and fast career progression. Being a CA with all levels cleared in the first attempt, combined with rapid promotions, strong client-facing statutory audit exposure, and partner-level recommendations, positions you as a mature, high-impact candidate. Your academics, early achievements and consistent leadership trajectory signal discipline and intellect.

Your GMAT score looks decent, and your consulting/audit background aligns well with post-MBA goals. For R3, the key will be sharp storytelling, clearly articulating why you need the MBA now, how it accelerates your consulting leadership path beyond audit, and how you’ll add value to the ISB classroom.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!
No pressure, no strings - just helpful insights on where you stand and how you can strengthen your chances.

I have 5 years 6 months of total work experience as of date.

I am currently working as a Senior Project Manager with Bajaj Finance Limited, Pune, one of India’s leading fintech companies. Over the past year, I have been managing cross-functional projects to scale digital lending platforms and streamline credit operations. My work has contributed to ₹900 Cr in personal loan disbursements, ₹180 Cr in gold loans, and ₹250 Cr in home loans in a single quarter, while improving conversion rates by 40% through process improvements and data-driven interventions. I have also overseen delivery of scalable backend systems and data pipelines, enabling faster disbursal and better risk monitoring.

Prior to this, I worked for 4 years as a Software Engineer → Senior Software Engineer at Bajaj Finance. In these roles, I built core lending technology systems, gained expertise in backend architecture, and collaborated with product and business teams to align technology with growth objectives. This progression gave me both deep technical foundations and early leadership exposure, setting the stage for my move into project management.

I hold an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering from IIT Kanpur (Class of 2020). While my CPI was modest (6.2/10), I have since consistently demonstrated strong analytical ability and professional impact. My GMAT Focus score of 695 (97th percentile overall; 94th percentile Quant, 97th percentile Data Insights, 74th percentile Verbal) further validates my readiness for rigorous MBA coursework.

MBA Goals:

Target region:
I am primarily drawn to one-year MBA programs in India, the UK, and Europe (such as ISB, INSEAD, LBS, IESE, HEC, Oxford, Cambridge), as they allow me to return to the workforce quickly while gaining strong international exposure. At the same time, I remain open to considering leading US MBA programs that provide strong pathways into product management and fintech, given their global reputation and career networks.

Short-term goal (post-MBA):
I aim to transition into AI-driven product management roles with global technology and fintech firms such as Google, Amazon, Stripe, or Revolut ideally in Europe or Asia. This is a natural extension of my current project management experience into a more strategic, product-focused leadership path.

Long-term goal:
I aspire to grow into senior product strategy leadership roles (for example, Chief Product Officer) in BigTech or fintech firms and eventually launch my own AI-enabled fintech venture in India, focused on driving financial inclusion through digital innovation. I also want to leverage the international MBA network to build global career flexibility and entrepreneurial exposure.

Clarity in goals can help, though your low GPA in the ORM pool (Indian, Male Engineer) may act against you, and would require you to submit your application with VERY STRONG Resume, Career Goals, LORs and of course essays that present compelling narratives. Given your choice of schools, and that you plan to apply to 11 in R1, I hope you have a very good mentor on your side, and lots of great prep.
Also, now that you should have been ready to apply to most already, why look for a profile assessment at this stage?

Hope that helps. Please submit your profile for a Free Assessment over a 1:1 call. https://theivyleagueedge.com/index.php/contactus/

Thanks for sharing your profile @Malay Mohanta . Your profile seems to be well-positioned for your target schools if you package your technical + project impact into a clear product/strategy narrative and handle the CPI question convincingly. Your GMAT Focus 695 is a good signal (top percentiles) and compensates strongly for a modest CPI; use it. The employer (Bajaj Finance) + your quantified contributions are huge assets for both one-year (ISB/INSEAD/LBS) and two-year (Booth/MIT/Kellogg/Ross) programs. The GMAT 695 Focus, schools will notice.

Admit-odds:
INSEAD (one-year, Europe): Target / Reach depending on other factors. INSEAD’s class GMAT/metrics and mix favor strong international profiles and tech→product transitions; your score and fintech impact are compelling.

Chicago Booth / MIT Sloan / Kellogg / Columbia / Ross (two-year US): Reach > Target. These programs have median GMATs in the ~720-730+ range (Sloan/Booth medians ~729-730). Your 695 Focus is good, but may sit slightly low, still very much in range if your essays + recommendations present a crisp product trajectory and leadership. You can expect Booth/MIT to be moderately selective but achievable with great storytelling.

LBS / HEC / IESE / Oxford / Cambridge / Judge: Target / Good fit for Europe one-year / 15-21 month formats. Your fintech + tech background fits European recruiters for product/fintech roles; schools value quant proof + leadership. (School-specific odds will depend on essays + interview).

Main weaknesses/risks:
CPI 6.2/10- Risk: some adcoms may flag it.
Fix: brief (one paragraph) explaining context (grade deflation, final year timeline, extenuating circumstances, if any), then move quickly to proof: highlight coursework, grades in quantitative classes, GMAT quant percentile, and professional outcomes. Admissions cares more about trajectory than a single number.

Function clarity (Project Manager → Product Manager), Risk: adcoms want to see product ownership, not just delivery.
Fix: craft 3-4 essays/stories showing direct decisions you made about product features/prioritization, customer outcomes, metric ownership (not only project delivery). If you haven’t owned a product, create a small pro-bono product/POC or publish an investment/product brief showing roadmap + metrics.

Sharpen essays around product signal: Lead with the customer or metric you changed. Example: “I led a change that reduced disbursal time X% and increased conversion by 40%, unlocking ₹1,330 Cr incremental disbursements in Q3. Here’s how that taught me product prioritization and data-driven tradeoffs.” Numbers = persuasive.

Choose 2 recommenders who can speak to your strategic impact (one senior leader who can verify the ₹ volumes and conversion improvements). Provide them with a one-pager with impact metrics.

We would love to learn more about your academic background, extracurricular activities, professional experience, and personal journey so we can offer a more tailored assessment of your profile and evaluate your chances at your target schools more accurately. Feel free to book a profile evaluation session.

Hi Malay
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, your profile shows strong progression from software engineering into project management with measurable impact, the scale of loan disbursements, process improvements, and backend systems you’ve led are very solid achievements. Coming from IIT Kanpur gives you academic credibility, and while your undergrad GPA is slightly on the lower end, your 695 GMAT FE will help you offset that. The combination of deep tech expertise and current leadership in scaling digital lending platforms is highly relevant for your post-MBA goal of AI-driven product management.

You have a long list of schools that you are targeting. For European/UK one-year programs, you’re a strong fit as they value tech/PM backgrounds, and your goals align well with their career outcomes. ISB is also a natural option given your India roots and fintech focus. For the US, Kellogg, Ross, Fuqua, and Sloan are more realistic than H/S/W/Booth/Columbia given the highly competitive Indian male tech pool and your GPA, but your impact-driven story still keeps you in the running.

You will need to address the GPA head-on and bring in leadership/impact stories beyond just execution. You haven't mentioned extracurriculars or community involvement, if you can add something meaningful here, it will help you balance your profile.

I’d be happy to offer you a free profile review for your target MBA programs to see where you stand and how to boost your chances, happy to help!

Hi Malay, Hope you are doing well, just came across your profile that you applied with a 615 R1 ISB. I am planning to apply to ISB for R3 and GMAT is due next week. Will you be available for a short discussion? I am very skeptical at the moment on getting a very high GMAT and thus looking forward to connect with you.

Completed an undergraduate double degree from Monash University in Commerce (Business Analytics) and Music (Composition). GPA is from combined degree, as is my WAM of 81.820, however, the Commerce part of my degree was stronger academically. I received a Dean's Commendation for the Commerce part of my degree which is given to those who score in the top 2-5% of WAMs in their cohort.

I am currently working as a Data Analyst at Siemens Healthineers Australia which I have been at for 2.5 years as of 1st Jan 2026 (1 year as intern, 1.5 in current role). My end goal is to move into the finance management team, of which my work is both aware and supportive of. I do not currently have any direct reports in my role, but I do locally lead a citizen development community which hosts monthly session that aim to upskill participants on operational excellence and digitalisation topics. Through this community I frequently collaborate and sometimes delegate to others but more through informal channels.

I have had some experience (though a while ago) in testing environments, as I completed the UMAT in 2018, which is an undergraduate medical entrance exam, and scored in the 93rd percentile.

I am not planning on applying to an MBA program for a while but would like to be well prepared for the GMAT before taking the examination.

Hi, here is a quick evaluation from our team:

Overall read: This is a strong early-career profile for US and Indian MBA programs, especially with tech experience at a global brand (American Express) and solid academic credentials.

What works well:

Strong academics (NIT Calicut, 8.06 GPA, SPDC scholar) with international schooling background — shows adaptability and intellectual rigor.

Professional experience in tech + automation at Amex — clear domain expertise and measurable impact.

Competitive extracurricular/achievements: Masters of the Future case competition top-30 nationwide — highlights analytical and problem-solving skills.

Clear career goal: transition into strategy and leadership — aligns well with Goizueta, Kelley, Jones, Terry, and ISB programs.

Key focus areas:

Leadership story: emphasize times you’ve influenced teams, driven adoption, or improved processes beyond just technical delivery.

Extra-curricular depth: leverage international exposure or competitions to show holistic growth.

Test score: GMAT Focus 655 is decent; 660–670+ would strengthen candidacy, especially for US programs.

Hi
Priyanka here from ARINGO. Speaking about your profile, you have a solid and well-balanced profile for your target schools. Your 3 years at American Express combined with automation impact, gives you a strong technical foundation, while your NIT background and scholarship add academic credibility to your profile. Your GMAT score is within range for your target programs.

Your international schooling also adds diversity and global exposure. The key for you will be clearly articulating the transition from tech execution to strategy and leadership, with concrete examples of decision-making, influence, and ownership at work.
