To switch from X to Y is the correct idiom.
X and Y have to be parallel.
X - printing from a traditional negative
Y - printing from a digital image

E is the answer.

E brings new meaning "Printing from a digital image" while the original sentence is talking about "printing on a computer". Both convey different meaning, then how can E be the correct answer.
It is maintaining the parallelism but changing the meaning

My reply is not specific to this question, but generally, we should not look at option A as the option that will always give us the intended meaning. Option A may in fact (sometimes) convey the wrong meaning.
