Degree or transcripts??
What do we need to provide to business schools in applications- degree or transcripts or both 
And do we need to send hard copies or online application with soft copies work?

Scanned transcripts are required mostly check with the adcom of B school for any specific requirement

Most global business schools need transcripts alone and soft copies generally work at the time of applying. A hard copy of the transcript may be needed when you have received an admit and are proceeding with accepting the offer of admission.

Colleges will ask for transcripts - soft copies at the time of application typically (though sometimes they are known to ask for official copies) and a copy of the degree certificate (verifiable) upon admission.

Individual colleges can sometimes add flavors/variations to this usually standard ask.

Both are needed in most cases.
Though in case you are still studying, you can get a letter stating the same, and that would make do for the lack of the same and will be enough to get an admit
You will then need to submit it before you join.
