Dejected, deflated and demoralized.. scored just 640

Question

I really dont know what went wrong on my GMAT. I had diligently gone through all of the MGMAT books. Solved all the gmatprep questions. Analyzed my mock mgmat test. Solved many questions that were available on gmatclub.com.

GMAT test-
IR 7
Q 47 (missed last quest.. yeah i know it was stupid of me)
V 31 (dont know what happened here. Got two really really tough RC's almost back to back..i couldnt even grasp the 1st passage at all)
AWA 5.0

Here are my MGMAT mock scores 
free mgmat- 680 q43 v32
mgmat2 630 q41 v35
mgmat3 600 q43 v30
mgmat4 680 q45 v37
mgmat5 680 q44 v38
mgmat6 680 q47 v35

GMATprep1 720 3days before test
GMATprep2 720 2 days before test

I belong to the Indian IT Engineer category with 2.5yrs experience. So it would be very difficult for me to get admissions in Urbana, Kelly, ross,brigham, seal (pennsylvania)

I am thinking of retaking the GMAT. My question to the experts over here is  from where should i study verbal now  cause I am done with Manhattan.
SC-I am good at SC (at most 2-3 wrong)
CR- i have done powerscore,gmatprep and downloaded few Q700-800 docs from gmatclub. So i need new materials
RC- done mamhattan, gmatclub docs, gmatprep and few from aristotle

I need help regarding study material for RC and CR. Also, I want any advise on what should be my strategy.

Request everyone to pleasee help me out here.

Hi,

Sorry for your score mate. As most of expert says, the tension and nervousness during the exam may be the likely factor to get some low scores in GMAT.

For verbal, you can try e-gmat or magoosh. They both are good and comes with score improvement guarantee.

Many students feel  GMAT Club test  is hardest and helped them to get to their target scores.

All the best for 2nd attempt. But make sure you take some break from this for a while before start preparing again.

Thanks for your help sir.. This is exactly what is baffling me. I dont think it was because of jitters or nervousness. I was confident while going for my GMAT.

Hello,

I gave my second GMAT exam yesterday and scored very low. A disappointing 580(Q 45, V 25). Last year in the December month I have given my first GMAT exam and scored miserably 560(Q 43, V 24). I am in a shocked and confused state as I am not able to understand what went wrong.

During my first attempt I only devoted 1 month to the preparation and scored consistently poor in the gmat prep exams (on a average 560-580). That quiet explained my poor performance in the real test as well. That's why I decided to give a second attempt.

But this time I devoted around 3 months for the preparations. For Quant I completed all the Manhattan Books and also its sentence correction guide. On all the Manhattan mock tests I scored an average 680 (Q 44, V 38). In the GMAT prep tests I scored 660 and 680. I am not able to understand this difference of 100 points between the mocks and the real test. I am weak in Sentence correction because in all the practice tests also I was only able to get 50% correct. But know I am quiet sure my full verbal is weak. There are a couple of questions which are troubling me .

1) I am having a self doubt whether I will be able to score well (around 700 , for admission in some good college) in the GMAT. 
2) Should I think of retaking the GMAT or leave it . If I take, I am not sure what strategy to follow. 
3) I am terribly upset with the second score. Don't know what to do next. Feeling like stuck somewhere.

Please advice me what to do next and how to cope with this.
