Referring to the explanation for the answer of Q1, I think author explicitly mentions that the point of law is disputed, but what he doesn't mention is whether it is "WIDELY" disputed or not. Its a slight twist in the language that makes option A wrong.

Explanation

6. The author uses the example of the “airplane downed at sea" (Highlighted) in order to

A. Show a potential incongruity between current law and technology:
This is the correct answer. The passage discusses how laws regarding cargo found at sea have remained virtually unchanged since the seventeenth century, despite quantum leaps in transportation technology in the twentieth century. The example of an airplane downed at sea is used to illustrate how technological advancements, such as airplanes, have created new situations that may not be adequately addressed by existing laws, indicating a potential incongruity between current law and technology.

B. Present an instance when current law satisfies a practical need:
This is not supported by the passage. The passage does not mention that current laws regarding cargo found at sea satisfy a practical need. In fact, it implies that existing laws may be outdated and not fully applicable to modern transportation technology.

C. Demonstrate the failings of the American legal system:
This is not supported by the passage. The passage does not criticize or demonstrate the failings of the American legal system. It simply mentions previous United States court rulings that have applied salvage laws to money found on a body floating in a lake and suggests that future American judges may apply salvage laws to cargo salvaged in space, without making any judgment on the failings of the legal system.

D. Justify an otherwise unpopular legal opinion:
This is not supported by the passage. The passage does not mention any specific legal opinions or attempt to justify unpopular legal opinions. It simply presents examples and discusses the potential incongruity between current law and technology in the context of cargo found at sea.

E. Prove a theory using an example from history:
This is not supported by the passage. The passage does not present any theories or use historical examples to prove a theory. It primarily discusses the unchanged nature of maritime laws regarding cargo found at sea and the potential challenges posed by modern transportation technology, such as airplanes.

In conclusion, option A is the most accurate answer as it aligns with the passage's focus on the potential incongruity between current law and technology in the context of cargo found at sea.
