I recently took the GMAT and got a 740 (47Q 46V). I'm perfectly happy with my score, but when I googled this breakdown (47Q 46V) every recent example came out to a 750. I thought that your combined score was based on your raw quant and verbal scores. If that's the case, shouldn't I have received a 750? Did the computer make a mistake? Can I challenge it?
No, the software doesn't make mistakes and I doubt they will entertain your request if you do challenge it.
You raw scores also have a range i.e. the score of 46 could represent a low 46 or a high 46 (for want of better terminology). Perhaps a low 47 and a low 46 would give you 740 but a high raw score on at least one would give you 750. The point is that the raw scores you see do not get mapped on to the overall score. There are other aspects involved.
