Hi abhijeetsingh,

Since it sounds like you're just beginning your studies, then it would be a good idea to take a FULL-LENGTH practice CAT Test; you can download 2 for free from www.mba.com (and they come with some additional practice materials). If you want to do a little studying first, so that you can familiarize yourself with the basic content and question types, then that's okay - but you shouldn't wait too long to take that initial CAT. That score will give us a good sense of your natural strengths and weaknesses and will help provide a basis for comparison as you continue to study. A FULL CAT takes about 4 hours to complete, so make sure that you've set aside enough time to take it in one sitting. Once you have those scores, you should report back here and we can come up with a study plan.

I'd like to know a bit more about your timeline and goals:
1) When are you planning to take the GMAT?
2) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
3) What Schools are you planning to apply to?

Hi,

Welcome to the GMAT Club. Manhattan strategy guides are good if you want to study the basics. These will provide you an overview of all the topics that are tested on the GMAT along with a few practice questions. These books are great if you want to understand the basics and get comfortable with the topic before getting into the test taking mode.

Manhattan advanced, on the other hand, is good if you want to study advanced test taking strategies and do some GMAT like questions. You might find the advanced guide a little intimidating, if you are not thorough with your concepts. If you plan to use both these books, the best thing is to go through strategy guides first and then use Advanced book for some additional questions and test taking strategies. There is a lot of learning in MGMAT Advanced guide solutions, so be sure to read those.

Check out bb's review of MGMAT quant: https://gmatclub.com/forum/advanced-gma ... 14166.html

I'd also highly recommend GMATClubTests (https://gmatclub.com/tests-beta/). These tests are really good if you are aiming Q49+. I got a Q49 after going through MGMAT guides and using GMATClubTests.

And finally, check out the following threads:

Good luck!
