Hi everyone,
I’m in a bit of a dilemma and would love to get your thoughts.
I had applied to multiple MBA programs and received an offer from
TIAS School for Business and Society with a
scholarship, bringing the tuition fee down. After careful consideration at the time, I
signed and sent the acceptance letter as requested by the admissions team. However, I have
not yet paid the enrollment fee (which is non-refundable).
Now, I have received an
admission offer from Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), which was one of my top choices but didn’t offer me a scholarship. The tuition at RSM is
almost double the fee I am paying in TIAS, making it significantly more expensive than TIAS. However, RSM has a stronger global brand, better rankings, and better post-MBA opportunities.
I am now stuck between:
- Proceeding with TIAS, where I have a scholarship and lower tuition but a less globally recognized brand.
- Switching to RSM, which has stronger career prospects but comes at a much higher cost.
Since I haven’t paid any fee yet, I assume I can still withdraw from TIAS, but I am wondering if there are any implications of doing so after signing the acceptance letter.
Would love to hear from anyone who has been in a similar situation or has insights into which choice would be the best in the long run.
Thanks in advance for your advice!
Congratulations
Koushaludupa on both the offers!
If RSM aligns with your dream career path and you can stomach the higher cost, it’s likely the smarter long-term investment, stronger brand, better network, and more career doors opening. But if you want to play it safe, TIAS with a scholarship would be a prudent choice. RSM has stronger global presence and higher positioning in various categories compared to TIAS.
At the end of the day, it comes down to risk vs. reward and how much are you willing to bet on your future earning potential? If RSM can help you land the job that justifies the extra cost, it’s probably worth it. But if you’d rather keep things financially secure and still get a quality education, TIAS is a smart play.
No wrong choice here, just different paths. Go with what feels right for your goals and peace of mind! Good luck
