Gave GMAT today. Scored a pathetic 720.
Did not expect this. Even my lowest mock did not have this.
After 2 months of regular prep, and scores of:
GMATPrep1- 740 (Q50 V40)
Gmat Prep2- 740 (Q50 V40) (Whiteboard)
GMATPrep6- 740 (Q51 V39 IR8)
GMAT Prep5 - 770 (V51 V42 IR8)
GMAT Prep3 - 770 (Q51 V44 IR8)
ALL IN ABSOLUTELY TEST-LIKE CONDITIONS AND ZERO PAUSES EXCEPT 8 MINUTE BREAKS.
Had also given free mocks of MGMAT, Veritas, Kaplan, Experts Global with a similar score range. Atleast better than the actual result.
Real GMAT - 720 (Q50 37)
This feels pathetic. Giving test with a suffocating mask, should not have been this bad. Worse is the fact, that it never seemed that the test was going in the wrong direction. Usually, I know if I am guessing.
I am a female and a Chartered Accountant (CPA equivalent with a Big4 experience of 3 years. Have a stellar academic track record frequent All-India ranks, and a reasonable extra-curricular record. Wanted an admit in an M7 Bschool for 2021 admit. Seems too difficult with this score.
I am confused. Should I retake. The next available date is 1 month later, and I am seriously exhausted of any enthusiasm. Also, should I give GMAT Online instead?

And I think Critical Reasoning is would be the biggest culprit. How to overhaul it?

The official diagnostic tests are the ones you should trust if you want to assess your level, and your true level is clearly in the 740-770 range. So this 720 is just an outlier score, and if you could take the real test again tomorrow, as long as you were feeling relaxed and confident (i.e. performing as well as you normally do), it's almost certain you'd score better than that 720.
It's quite common that people get a lower-than-expected score on their first attempt, for a variety of reasons. Scores vary purely because of luck (because almost everyone guesses sometimes, and guesses can go well or badly by luck alone), and statistically, some people are just going to end up on the wrong side of variance on their first test. And then some people perform worse than normal because they're uncomfortable with the testing environment, or because they didn't sleep well because of nervousness, etc. When you retake, it's not likely you'll be too unlucky, so if that was the reason for your score, it probably won't recur. You'll also be more comfortable with the test-day experience, so you'll be more likely to perform as you usually do.
So if you do want to improve your score, I don't think you need to do much of anything besides a bit of practice to maintain your level. Just sign up for another test, and I bet you'll be fine. When you're at the V40+ level (which you are), there really aren't any prep materials that will help you, so I'd suggest ignoring anyone who posts here trying to sell you a course of some kind.
Now, whether you genuinely need a better score is a separate question - a 720 is excellent, and in most cases is more than good enough for any applicant's needs. But you'd need to talk to someone expert in admissions for guidance about that. Good luck!

First off, your GMAT score is NOT pathetic. So, for sure, don't beat yourself up over it. Regarding how to move forward, I think you gotta give it another shot. If you are a bit burned at the moment, then just give yourself a week off, and then dive back into the GMAT. The good news is that regardless of what happens on your retake, you have a 720 with Q50 in your back pocket. That idea alone should make you pretty calm on test day.
