Do connections to schools account for anything?

I am applying to school X's MBA program.
My wife is currently a student at school X (but not for bschool)

Is this worth noting in the application somewhere? If so, where?

In general, what about family? If my sister/father/etc have attended school X (but not bschool) for BA/MA/PhD, is any of this worth noting? If so, where?

Sometimes there's a section of the application that specifically asks about your connection to the school (family who are alumni, etc). If not, you could always add it into your Optional/Additional Information essay at the end of the application.

Aerien is spot on. Most (and by most I mean almost all) have a spot to highlight ties to the school. In the event you need to mention it in the optional essay, make sure you do it with tact. You don't want to very obviously name drop. Consider how to introduce the subject in soft way to make the most of your connections without detracting from them.

Of course! Mention the school, how fantastic it is, how well you know it already, and actually I am not against obvious name-dropping. I thin it helps a great deal (although it's no guarantee for anything). And family also helps. It's worth noting, usually in the essay where you explain why you want to go to the school, where you write something like "When my sis was at XXX, it was fantastic to see yyy and zzz, and now I want to be a part of that"
