I think most people that take the GMAT or even sign up get school contacts. Since I've taken the GMAT I've received several e-mails from schools. Most are schools I've either never heard of or at least don't read much about here. I did get a brochure from Notre Dame (only school to send me a brochure and not e-mail it to me). From what I gather Notre Dame's a decent school. I also got e-mails from Berkeley, although they started before I took the GMAT, so I don't think it has much to do with me. I also got an e-mail from Darden which like Notre Dame mentioned by GMAT and GPA. I understand that people usually get these contacts, but do specific schools matter? I mean if I got an e-mail from Junkville University, I wouldn't get too excited. However, if it's a decent school does that mean much?
Conversely does the fact that NYU, the one school I sent the scores to via the GMAT, not responding mean anything bad? Or do some schools just not contact prospective students no matter what?
Thanks.
