Okay, so R1 deadline is roughly 5 to 6 weeks away. Hopefully, many of you guys are almost done with brainstorming and started the writing process.

I remember from last year that besides essays, there were million other application related questions.

Since the deadline is coming up, this is a good time for you to review what you've already done, revise application strategies, and finalize those essays.

So....all you R1 applicants....

Do We Need a R1 Application Check/Review Chat Session?

My classes started today and my schedule is already booked with classes, study groups, happy hours, and info sessions with companies etc etc.

I can probably log onto chat for 1 hour. But I am sure others will probably join us.
(And all my application buddies from last year, I know that you guys miss talking to me. Drop by!)

So is there a demand for this? I can answer questions on applications to the bschools that I applied to last year - Haas, Kellogg, Booth, YSOM, NYU, and Tuck.

If enough of R1 applicants want to do this, we can schedule this some time next week. Now I am off to recruiting that smart ex-Bain dude from orientation into my study group....hopefully he considers 6 pack Corona Extra as a bribe....

I have one:

In the booth application, it asks us to report language skills other than english and native language.

The ratings are
1 - Have had some formal instruction
2 - Can hold a simple conversation
3 - Can converse fluently

I had took two semester classes in Japanese, should I put in "1" for Japanese. Or is it better to leave it off since I can barely use it at all?

Also on question "Have you attended a Chicago Booth Admissions Event? "
I put "yes, Daily Campus Visit Program" Does it count as an Admission event or should I leave it off? I don't see anywhere that would otherwise indicated I visited the school other than to mention it in my essay.

Thanks Nink

I think to be safe (also guideline I used when I applied myself)

1 = If you took high-school or college level foreign language course
2 = If you took additional conversational foreign language course after Step 1
3 = You can pretty much live in that foreign country without trouble communicating

I think if the campus tour was hosted/designed by Booth Admissions Office, then yes. If it had nothing to do with Booth Admissions Office, then no. (in my opinion)

I don't have any specific questions (other than when the stinking Kellogg app will be up), but I think it's a good idea. I'm sure others have lots of questions. I've been meaning to schedule a chat in the next couple of weeks.

sweet thanks! I will put them as that way. How is your school going and your presidency? ;)

I am converting my CV from a technical one to a business resume. :)
I am on the chat.
