Does ax = 5 – x?

Stat1: ax = 5, then, 5= 5-x, x=0. And for x=0, ax not equal to 5 – x. Sufficient.
Stat2: x = 1, then a=5-1 =4? ,we are not sure. Insufficient.

So, I think A. :)

IMO A

Does ax = 5 – x?
Simplify : x(a+1)=5

(1) ax = 5
Hence we know, x is not equal to 5.
Sufficient.

(2) x = 1
Insufficient

Does ax = 5 – x?

(1) ax = 5
ax = 5 – x
5 = 5 - x
X = 0
So, ax = 5 – x
5 = 5 - 0
Sufficient

(2) x = 1
Not sufficient

Option A
