If you don't cancel your GMAT score, that score will be visible separately and will not get replaced with new score.

JBgmat13
Hi guys,
I just took my online gmat and scored 610,which is lower than my targetscore 650.
So i am contemplating if i should take another exam.
Will i keep my 610 score if i do so or will it be replaced by the new score?

I did not take two exams. I took one.
I wanted to know if the score from my first online gmat will be canceled if i take a second online gmat. Or if i will have two scores and can decide which score i want to send to universities

Hi. For the GMAT online, the rules are slightly different from the standard GMAT school reporting. For the GMAT online, you can choose which score you want to report to which school and the other score is not reported/visible. As the result, there’s no need to cancel your GMAT online score and in case that is not convincing enough, you actually cannot cancel your GMAT online score 😂

So your 610 will remain there but you can choose to report it or not to report it to schools.

I was a little thrown off by your comment that you just took the GMAT online. It usually takes five days to get a score. When you say you just took it you mean like five days ago or you got a score immediately?

Hi JBgmat13,

If you are hoping to take the GMAT (to score higher) and if you'd like to send just one score to schools, then the safest move is to actually cancel your current GMAT score. If for any reason you end up needing to use it in the future, you can just reinstate that score. For some more information, check out this article:

Hi JBgmat13,

To answer your immediate question: NO - taking the At-home GMAT a 2nd time will not 'replace' your 1st Score with your 2nd Score. Each Test-Taker has an 8-attempt limit, so you could potentially have up to 8 Official Scores on your Record (although there is currently a 2-attempt limit on the At-home version of the Exam).

GMAC has publicly stated that the Official Score that you earn on Test Day is within +/- 30 points of actual ability. Assuming a similar 'swing' in how your CATs function, your 4 CAT score results (which you noted here https://gmatclub.com/forum/how-to-continue-354405.html) - along with your Official Score - show that you essentially performed the same each time (about 630 +/- a few points). You handle certain aspects of the GMAT consistently well, but you also make certain consistent mistakes. With this 610, you're closer to a 650+ than you probably realize, but you will have to make some fundamental changes to how you 'see' (and respond to) the GMAT before you will be able to consistently score at that higher level.

If you have not made any definitive changes to how you work through the GMAT, then you might not want to 'rush in' to retake the Exam too soon (since you will likely Score in this same general range). Before I can offer you the specific advice that you’re looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) What were your Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores on your Official GMAT?
2) How long have you studied? How many hours do you typically study each week?
3) What study materials have you used so far?
4) On what dates (or approximate dates) did you take EACH of your CATs/mocks and how did you score on EACH (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores for EACH)?
5) When are you planning to apply to Business School and what Schools are you planning to apply to?

Would it be possible to create a new account on mba.com and take my second online gmat there?

Hi JBgmat13,

Purposely setting up a second Account at www.mba.com (for example, with a different email address and contact information) - would be going against the Terms of Service. You have to remember that you're going to be ID'd every time you take an Official GMAT, so by knowingly doing something deceptive (such as setting up a second Account), once you got caught, your file would almost certainly be red-flagged. This means that any time a School reached out to confirm your GMAT Score on file, that School would learn what you had done - and while there are a variety of different ways to 'make up for' a weak spot in your application, purposely trying to 'scam' the GMAT would likely keep most Schools from accepting you.
