Yesteday was the worst day of my life. I got an email from GMAC stating that I have used stolen gmat fee wavier vouchers and as a consequence, all my scores have been cancelled and on top of that I have been banned from mba.com for three years. At first I was shocked and couldn't believe a single thing written in the mail. I double checked the mail id and yes it was from their official handle (#####@gmac.com).
The context behind the stolen vouchers is that I scheduled my gmat exam (second attempt) in july using the vouchers from one of the sellers, whom I met online (teleg.ram) and who clamied that he has been authorised to sell the vouchers. I trusted him coz he was ready to accept the payment after my exam got scheduled. The offer was really good as I had to pay just a little over half of the actual price of GMAT online ($300+$54 taxes). I had paid the heft exam fee in my first attempt and when I got a chance to save some bucks in my second exam, I took it. I know mba courses cost a lot but I come from a place, where even $150 (the amount that I saved) can make your life just a little better. Anyways, I didn't face any issue before or during the exam and infact the exam booking process was really smooth and voucher worked in first attempt.
I have been given 7 days by GMAC to appeal against the decision. Although, I have sent all the details (Whats.app conversations and payment proofs) to the GMAC, but this situation is really stressing me out and I am feeling like crying rn. MBA would have been a big move in my life and now, I feel like this lifelong dream of mine is slipping out of my hands.
The reason I am writing this post is to make you all aware about this, coz nobody really deserves such a thing. Guys, it's a humble request from you all to please don't fall for the fee wavier vouchers, coz saving few bucks at the cost of your entire career is not worth it. Also, pls suggest something if any of you have faced such a thing.
I have done my part, now bb it's in your hands to make sure that everyone on the gmatclub knows about the consequences of using these cursed vouchers.
