I would recommend dressing for online interviews like you would dress for face to face interviews.
Also, make sure that everything else that can be seen on camera (like the room behind you) looks professional - no clothes on the floor or embaracing posters on the wall ;)

Thanks, I shall keep these in mind :D I do hope, that the Adcom doesn't ask me to stand up in the middle of the interview and ask me to showcase my pants or shoes?

I think there's probably more harm in being underdressed than overdressed. I would vote for a collared shirt a tie and a jacket. Unless you'll get so hot that it will impact your performance

This dress is good but do you really need a Jeans. Why not to have a boxer. Hoping Online interview webcam is not moving around.

I think you should dress like on a one on one itw from top to bottom lol. We never know if you forgot that you wore a short and may have to stand up during the itw

Hi All,

I would like to ask what dress code are we supposed to follow for the Online Interviews ? (Kira and Skype)

Do we need to wear a Suit and Tie or just a regular shirt is fine ?

Thanks,
Arijit
No one will ask you to stand up! But nevertheless-- I think it is good to approach this in your "full on" interview outfit! Why? Because you will feel more "professional" if you are fully dressed! For women-- do wear make up and jewelry as you would with regular interview-- you don't want to look washed out-- which could happen if you are just in everyday casual. Men-
go ahead and shave-- save the shaggy look for the weekend-- and make friends with the iron -- as you don't want wrinkles to speak for you in the interview. In terms of tips for the skype interviews themselves-- here are some tips: https://stratusadmissionscounseling.com ... nterviews/
Best wishes for your interviews!

arijit2,
If you are interviewing from India, and if you are comfortable, wear a tie and a suit.

However, DO NOT wear the full suit, if you haven't already worn them on several occasions AND/OR it is too hot for you to feel comfortable.

A Full sleeved, collared shirt, well ironed is a bare minimum though. It is usually a good idea to wear your trousers and formal shoes beneath as well, since often it keeps you in that "formal" mindframe, keeping you from lowering your guard during your conversations.

Pay special attention to Case-Interviews. Practice them with someone you respect, and with case questions.
Feel free to connect for more.

I can see some discussion on whether to shave or not. This shouldn't even be a question.
Beard is socially acceptable.
Beard is acceptable in a interview.
Beard is the new cool.
Beard is awesome.

Its about choice really. My personal advice to applicants -> DO NOT SHAVE unless you want to. Beard is absolutely PROFESSIONAL in the current times. There is nothing unprofessional about that.
